St Johnstone v Motherwell, 21/11/20

Recommended Posts

Ali McCann’s reading of the game is exceptional. Glad we’ve got back level here. Much the same as so many games this season-very comfortable and not giving up much of anything at the back but not creating enough clear chances in the final third, and when we do not taking them. That Wotherspoon opportunity was a gift.

A combination of the late changes, the wind, the bumpy pitch and St Johnstone being horrible to play against made that one of our worst performances of the season in the first half. O’Hara and Mugabi were both hopeless for the penalty.

Positives are that we looked much better in the last ten minutes of the half, where we created chances for O’Hara and Cole right at the end. Our goal was a beautiful move and completely against the run of play. Also St Johnstone didn’t create too much. Surely we can only improve in the second half.

Stunned that O’Hara’s complete lack of awareness on the edge of his own box has cost us a goal.

Tidy finish to be fair to him after what was a a decent move. Penalty itself was daft from Mugabi though who again, looks far from convincing when he’s not protected by playing in the middle of a back 3.

That challenge by Bryson on Chapman was an absolute shocker, stick on red card.

Struggling to understand what the f**k was he doing?

Struggling to understand the referees decision as well. If he thinks it was an accidental colision then surely never even a yellow but if he thinks it was deliberate then can only be a sending off.

didnt look accidental to me...

The Stevie May of old there would never have even thought about that kind of pass.

Out his feet and having a go for the far corner. Scored a very similar goal in the past against both St Mirren and Hearts doing so.

Wondered if he could have got onto that long free kick from Gordon, shouldn't have let it bounce.
