Livy v St Mirren 21/11/2020

Recommended Posts

We weren't amazing but we really didn't look like conceding in the last twenty minutes. Tait and Erhahon were comfortably our best outfield players again and Alnwick made an excellent save when it mattered. The defence played better in the second half. Mason looks a very good signing so far. I hope Fraser can get up the park more often when we're playing a back four, the one time he bombed forward won us the corner for a goal.

I'm concerned though that Jim took so long to make subs in the middle of the park, Doyle-Hayes and McGrath looked gubbed and we were crying out for MacPherson to see the game out rather than McAllister.

As Lex said, it's a massive three points and great to see other results going our way today too. Quite shocked at how poor Livi were, they seem to have totally lost their physical presence and JET was hopeless up front.

We've been utter shite but have had the best openings in the game.

We either need to significantly improve or start taking the chances. We will lose otherwise.

Fair play to us managing to find a way to get worse in the second half. Fully deserved that deflection.

St. Mirren deservedly winning two games against us this season through simply working harder. That is really difficult to swallow.

Agree with the calls on that tackle from Holt. Won the ball but clearly intended to hit the man and it resulted in a potential ankle breaker. Couldn't have complained if he got sent off.

Football was abysmal viewing from both sides but Saints wanted it more and completely shut the game down after they scored, so a deserved win for them.

Persisting with shelling the ball long to Emmanuel-Thomas the entire game was fucking miserable. Sibbald out wide; Bartley getting 90; Brown within a 10 mile radius of the Tony Macaroni Arena; and Josh Mullin marooned on the bench for 70-odd minutes were utterly baffling decisions. We’re in a downward spiral and unless it’s arrested soon, I wouldn’t be confident in slightest of avoiding the bottom two positions at all.

HT 0-0

Fairly scrappy stuff but I’ve quite enjoyed it. As with pretty much every game between the sides in recent seasons there’s not much in it but plenty of hustle and bustle.
Couple of half chances for either side but no one deserves to be ahead.

Disagree think Livi should be ahead should be a comfortable 3 points for them by the end.

Absolutely agree with what has been said previously. Some days it just does not work out for you and you have to take the pain but 15 woeful games into the season and it looks as though there is no heart in the team.  Guys that were a standout last season cannot head or pass the ball in this one.  No system, players out of position and guys that seem unsubbable  (real  word ? ). Bartley and Jet to name two. Feel sorry for Sibbald, he is not the worst performer but he always is the first to get hooked. Bring Serrano on and move Lawson to the right only to sub him a few minutes later. Baffling.

First half pretty even - thought we were on top for opening 25 then Livi for the rest of the first half. But we were very much in control in the second half after we scored.

That Jet guy looks very overweight and unfit and for his size caused us no trouble. Bit underwhelming for Livi fans after Dykes.

Proper Football Manager stuff from Holt/Martindale there.

Stopped even checking the updates at half time. Null and void the season now before it's too late.

Caused us more problems than he did you . His " defensive clearance" header out set up your goal. The Jet has not left the terminal building never mind reached take off .

It's becoming increasingly obvious there's big problems with this Manager and this bunch of players, with the lack of any structure, tactics ,pace, interest ,and the ability to get results WILL eventually get you relegated.
I can't believe after the terrible display against Motherwell, you can come out and play as bad, surely it's no coincidence that all the players having another off day, l just can't see anyway out, Something needs to happen soon or it will be too late, trust me.

Stryjek  5/10  Nothing to do

Devlin   4/10  Tried to get into the game, poor crosses.

Guthrie  3/10  Still shaky looking nothing to do

Brown    2/10  Slow, lazy looking

Lawson   5/10  Some nice touches first half, dropped out the game.

Bartley  1/10  Was he playing, needs dropped .

Holt     4/10  Some good passes first half, but no penetration going forward, too many defensive type players in the team.

Sibbald  2/10  Off the pace, played in wrong position

Pittman  1/10  This guy is very very inconsistent, hopeless today

Forrest  2/10  Plenty of running, couldn't get into the game, in other words headless  chicken

Jet      0/10  What can I say ?,unfit looking, lazy,no pace, bad positional  sense, waste of a jersey.

Serrano  4/10  Made no difference .

Poplatnik 3/10 Made no difference

Mullin    3/10 Made no difference

Fair play to St Mirren. First 20 mins could have been 2 up.Saints stuck to their guns.Agree Jet for this level overwieght and and seriously overated for what we need to get out of this debacle. We are now in serious trouble for the first time in years.Weve got to deal with it.Ive got to stand by them as a supporter. But this is gonna take something special for us to survive at this level. 👍 🦁

Probably gonna be our only saving grace. In this current climate. We are not the Livi from the last couple of years. The teams around us have so  many games in hand. Will probably take it out off our hands. Miracoulous if we stay up.👍

It hurts, but your probably right.Martindale has a big say in the running of team affairs at our club. Was the same with Hopkin. So many Livi supporters dont know what happens behind the scenes. We are in limbo as a club.Sentiment has a big say fans wise as a club..Hopefully we'll still punch above our weight and stay in the SPL.🦁
