Great to see the original line-up of The Damned getting together for a few gigs next year. (hopefully)

Wonder if they'll write and record new tunes together?

Eh?

None.

Let me 're-phrase that. The original Damned.

My man! 3 of my absolute favourites from the mid to late 80s.

Saw Pale Saints support The Primatives back then.

That's my listening sorted for today.

Had a ticket to see the Pale Saints on a co-headline tour with the Boo Radleys in 1991 (I think) at the venue in Edinburgh. Got through from Dundee with some pals only to find the gig had been cancelled. Still on the bright side, I did finally see The Primitives at the Arches in Glasgow about 8 years ago.

It would be a major shock if The Jam or The Smiths ever got back together for a tour since both band's members all absolutely despise each other.

Missed out a couple of years ago on Crosby, Stills and Nash touring the UK, might have been the last chance for that. Would have liked to have seen The Byrds come back in some form, though the surviving members probably wouldn't work with that c**t McGuinn again.

The Verve would be a good shout, they would need to start talking to each other, same goes for Thurston Moore and Kim Gordon formally Sonic Youth.

WTF has happened to Daft Punk?

Siouxsie and the Banshees, Pavement, Portishead, Atari Teenage Riot, Babes in Toyland, Bauhaus, Blonde Redhead, The Boo Radleys, Botch, Brutal Truth, Carter USM, Cocteau Twins, Compulsion, Curve, The Chameleons (Would they be included even considering that their drummer passed away a few years ago?), Dead Skeletons, Death Grips, Drugstore, The Delgados, Echo and the Bunnymen, Elastica, Faith No More, Fields of the Nephilm, Flying Saucer Attack, Godflesh, Gorky's Zygotic Munci, Heresy, Hood, Huggy Bear, Kill Casino, Kylesa, Loop, The Lemonheads, Magoo, Massive Attack, Mazzy Star, Mission of Burma, My Bloody Valentine, My Vitriol, Neurosis, OMD, Orthrelm, Pale Horse, Part Chimp, Pink Industry, Pop Will Eat Itself, The Pogues, R.E.M., Roxy Music, Senser, Serena Maneesh, Shop Assistants, Silverfish, Sleeper, Super Furry Animals, Superchunk, Supergrass, Swans, The Stupids, The Sugarcubes, The Sundays, Tarnation, Test Dept., Th' Faith Healers, Ultravox, Urusei Yatsura, Veruca Salt, The White Stripes, The Wonder Stuff, Winters, Xmal Deutschland (again would this count since their drummer from the 2nd and 3rd albums also passed away?), Crass, Dustdevils, The Undertones, The Senseless Things, Ned's Atomic Dustbin......

so many I'd be here all night listing all of them.

I'd be at the front of the queue to see The Byrds. Saw CSN on their comeback tour and it was very good apart from the bits where they said "Here's one of Stephen's new ones". Saw Mcguinn in Glasgow 20 odd years ago. The closing 20 minute version of "Eight Miles High" was one of the best things I've ever seen. There's no chance for Sonic Youth sadly but from your list Delgados, Flying Saucer Attack and Gorky's, yes please. Ned's Atomic Dustbin less so.

Babes in Toyland - last I heard, they were back together and touring, only without Maureen Herman, who they fell out with. But they did albums without her anyway.

Brutal Truth...Faith No More - those c***s are always reforming, are they not? Surprised FNM have never done anything with Big Jim Martin again; they really must have hated each other by the end. I know Angel Dust was made by sending Jim the tapes of the songs they'd written and waiting for him to record guitar parts over the top. Seemed to work surprisingly well.

Brutal Truth will no doubt be back when Dan Lilker gets bored

The Damned can do whatever the feck they want such is their legendary status. Probably the best group that ever broke up and reformed then repeated often.
