It's interesting the mention of his age, and he probably is too old but our Head of State is 95 next year and Pope Francis is 83 and nobody ever says they're gaga.

Queen Elizabeth and Pope Francis aren't the Commander-in-Chief of a world spanning Leviathan.

Didn't hold Reagan back.

Reagan wasn't diagnosed with Alzheimers until 1994 - when he had been out of office over 5 years.

He was still clearly gone during at least one of his two terms

Lovely bit of guilt by association there. You can choose your friends but you can't choose your family.

She is a former prosecutor who sent mothers to prison because of kid's truancy, refused to prosecute a single LAPD cop for brutality and refused early parole for convicts because the state needed them for slave labour.

So it's not at all by association. I was just highlighting how the yank ruling class functions.

was it Buzzfeed that had a raft of articles spread out over a few years going "lol coal miners/manual workers should just learn to code!" and then there were massive redundancies made

so the same journalists started getting fucking bombarded with "lmao just learn to code" stuff, some of whom took it very badly

edit: ohhh there it is

The bolded is wrong.

If you actually read the article you will see buzzfeed and others were mocking Tech Bros who were using Learn to Code as a cure all to America's problems.  And the usaul bandwagoners of shitty capitalist policies jumped on board. Resulting in this Buzzfeed article...

https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/katienotopoulos/should-you-learn-to-code

None of these Learn To Code pieces were written by Buzzfeed.

Of course since Buzzfeed is a left wing outlet, to the right wingers they must be WRONG and learning to code to save America is actually good.  Hence arseholes throwing it in the face of journalists when they lose their jobs.

America is wild.

GOP landslide in 2024 confirmed

I was listening to Chapo there and they explained that the Uber Prop 22 has a clause that 7/8ths of state elected officials have to vote against it to remove it. The other option is the Supreme Court.

Obama's ex transport secretary works for Lyft and has already said they are going to roll this model out to other states. So basically crazily anti worker legislation put to a referendum where one side has unlimited funds to promote a false narrative about the proposition. What's even more crazy is Uber get to write the question and make it as confusing as possible.

How did it ever get to be a referendum question anyway?

They have loads of those types of questions in America, that's how weed became legal and gay marriage was introduced in CA. The problem is post Citizens United corporations are people and can also introduce propositions.

I remember back in the Eighties at the height of the steel and coal closures, Andrew Neil saying that it wasn't a problem, because of computers everyone would soon be able to live in a country cottage and work from home. He avoided the public eye for about 5 years afterwards.
