Oh he’s far, far better than Trump.

Tell that to the people of Libya.

The Establishment and deep state hated Trump, that should tell you all you need to know.

Trump was 1st president in decades that didnt start a new war, how long will it take for Biden to start new war?

Don't give up, there's still time for Trumpy to launch an attack on Iran. In the meantime he's launched more drone strikes than he's had bogies on the the golf course, declared full economic warfare on a few countries and tried and failed in more than one military coup attempt in Venezuela.

Did Trump not massively ramp up drone strikes?

And launched a load of shadowy deployments that we'll probably find out about in a few years time. Portraying him as a dove or uniquely bad for the world are both dumb positions.

Nothing screams peace loving hippie like hiring John 'can I push the big red button' Bolton.

Aye. I think he's personally much more of a coward who didn't have the committal to launch a war (which is good!) but it did just mean taking the apparatus set up or pioneered under Obama and going hog wild with them.

Trump is as Establishment as they come.   He makes profits from military expansion, he pays $750 in tax a year, and he literally trades off the back of the presidency.  “The deep state” is short hand for people who do jobs most people don’t understand.  It’s utterly meaningless.  You might as well just say “they”.

Think he's more squeamish than anything, didn't do anything major in Syria till he got shown a youtube video of children supposedly suffering the effects of chemical warfare. Obama was the first to have drones widely available, bit like Hillary was the first to get in trouble for using a personal email account. Trump was itching to have a Bush senior style in and and out victory like Panama or Reagan's in Grenada, in Venezuela, but I think everyone told him it would end up in the jungles like Vietnam. He's delegated the use of drones to underlings so he doesn't have to take personal responsibility like Obama did.

So perfectly American. Here they lie about a window being broken or someone getting punched, they really do things better over there.

Imagine being on the team that had to source the pigs head..

Biden will have a huge amount on his plate but will only have two guaranteed years of control of the Presidency, House and Senate.

Granting statehood to DC and PR should be a priority.  Looking at the Electoral College and the distribution of popular votes for the Senate should also be up there.  Possibly the composition of the SCOTUS.

Failure to act before 2023 could come back to bite the Dems hard.

Doesn't help that the GOP did well down ballot so the State Legislators and Governors will be gerrymandering like f**k. Firming up and expanding Obamacare and DACA should be a priority too, but it will be razor edge in the Senate with some votes requiring 60% and some Dems more like moderate Republicans.

Poor bloody Puerto Rico. Apparently they've had six referendums on becoming the 51st state.and still nobody cares.

The Democrats are going to do absolutely none of those things you mentioned, aren't they?

They'll do nothing major before 2022. Their majority is so small, it's barely a majority when anything particularly progressive comes up seen as the Independent from Maine is basically a Republican on most issues.

If 2022 goes well for the Dems, you'd like to think they'd make a move on Puerto Rico. While some of them like the status quo seen as it gets most of them out of paying income tax, it's hard to argue against the democratic necessity of admitting them to the Union.

Got to remember that the Dems won because they got the vote out. Young voters, people of colour, women voted Democrat rather than stay at home. If Biden does nothing for these voters on healthcare, college fees, structural inequality and women's right then they'll stay at home in 2022, the Senate will flip back, and Biden will be a lame duck. Best hope for Biden is that the fault lines in the right open up and a Trumpist third party splits the vote
