St Johnstone v Kilmarnock Friday 6/11/20

Recommended Posts

Thoroughly deserved 3 points.

Have to put my hand up to doubting our ability to create with this formation, but in the final half hour we ran Killie ragged.  That's the most comfortable Saints have looked against killie in a good few years, certainly pre-Steve Clarke.

Back 3 cruised it, Tanser and Danny Mac were great, the front 3 put a shift in though Spoony and Conway were mostly well off it in terms of quality on the ball other than the cross for the goal..  Davidson and McCann dominated a good killie centre midfield, McCann playing his best game of the season and looking exceptional.

3 brilliant moments of skill from Kane, seemed to have more confidence in himself than we've seen in a long while.

Who needs Israeli superstars when you have Chris Kane?

That was a superb performance. Really pleased for Danny, he's deserved that and I for one am already sad that he'll be gone at the end of the season. Was worried about Killie pushing the ball wide but the high defence pushed Killie into aimless punts from the keeper, easy for us to eat up and keep hold of the ball and build with.

No passengers tonight. Definitely things to work on but a lovely start to the weekend.

Also, credit to Callum Davidson. The right team in the right shape from the start and the right players off the bench at the right time.
