Let’s say Cowdenbeath finish bottom of League Two, Fraserburgh win the Highland League, and Gretna 2008 and Vale of Leithen occupy the bottom two positions in the Lowland League respectively. A play-off win for Cowdenbeath or Bonnyrigg would see VoL relegated, but a Fraserburgh play-off win would see both VoL and Gretna go down, right?

Correct. LL gains a club on net = 2 down, no change = 1 down, and loses a club on net = 0 down (the latter needs Elgin to be bottom).

The only positive thing about VOL staying up would be the boost to everyone else's goal difference.

I dunno. I find their continued presence hilarious.

ETA: I also find Marshmallo red dotting me anytime I say anything about VoL hilarious. Creates images of him absolutely seething they remain above Camelon and Irvine Vics in the pyramid.
