Wouldn't quite go that far but I'd say quote this once December is oot.

See how far doomed they are then considering Ed Uni and  the Star are on the radar.

Why am I even trying to defend them ?

That's 2 days in a row now

The first sentence is sarcastic. The 2nd to illustrate why.

They've still got to play Edinburgh Uni twice, Dalbeattie Star twice, plus the rest. It's not a position they'd want to be in, it is one they can dig themselves out of though.

Not sure what you expect the manager to say. He's hardly going to come out with "We're shite and there's no chance we're staying up" is he?

They play Edinburgh Uni a week on Saturday and Dalbeattie two weeks later. Their last three games are against the three clubs above them.

Yes they're not tier 5 standard and are next in line to go down - every club that has finished below them has either been relegated, is now just above them (Ed Uni, Gretna, Dalbeattie) or has improved a lot (EK, BSC, GFR). But now the season is underway we can't really criticise them if they stay the course.

Pedantic point but Gretna have never finished below Vale.

Some published tables (including I notice Wikipedia) do show that for inaugural 2013-14 season.

Vale were deducted 6pts just after season finished for fielding too many triallists in 2 matches late in campaign.

That dropped them below Gretna - as Vale's website's own history section shows:

Strange decision to abandon yesterdays game. As far as I could tell from the bottom of the garden both teams wanted to finish the game (I could be wrong) Does a result not stand after 70min? Why stop it at 66min?
Ive watched all of the home games and the defending can be shambolic ( the keeper has been excellent). Cant see them surviving. One thing that seems strange is a manager who continually picks himself but can't keep up. Hellish to watch. The Bonnyrigg game looks ominous.

Unless it's a specific rule for that competition, the result won't stand whether there have been 8 or 89 minutes played when it's abandoned.

You can make some rallying cry type comments about believing survival is possible and being up for the fight without having a bizarre dig at "armchair fans that have never kicked a ball in their life or the powers that be that put every obstacle in our way possible", indulging in utter shite like "It’s not formations or tactics that will keep us up .. it’s heart and desire" or going full Billy Brown with "Many seasons ago I won this league".

Just noticed Gretna 2008 are now sitting with more wins this season (3 in 9) than last (2 in 24) already. Only three points less than their total points haul last season as well. Good to see them improve and it looks like they'll be comfortably away from relegation this year.

TBH from what I saw from them when we played them, they do look as if they've improved.

How long until Berwick get punted into the East of Scotland league as well? It's only a matter of time now.

Given it averages about 0.5 relegations a season they should be fine for the next 20 years.

Think they had last Season played 10 and had six points.

Next three games a bit scary for them and then a big game at Raydale against Dalbeattie.

Over the weekend I remember HJ saying the EoSFL deadline for withdrawing had passed with no one taking up the offer.

Presumably the LL deadline isn't the full month of December and has hopefully passed so relegation can happen.

Deadline not yet passed I believe so could still happen.
