Edinburgh City v Elgin City

Recommended Posts

Might as well look forward to the weekend ahead and see what people think?

Edinburgh started brilliantly with 5 goals in the opening game and then came up against a tough Cowdenbeath team who held out for a 1-0 victory.  Now on to Saturday and Elgin City who sit top of the table.  Not sure what to expect to be honest but have a feeling Edinburgh will be up for this and re-organised.  I will go for a 3-2 home win but football seems difficult to predict this season.

Two good teams for this division.  It will be a tough battle.

Both teams beat Brechin (Big deal, every team will beat Brechin!)  but  Elgin's win away at Stranraer was probably the most impressive result so far.

For sure, if the same Edinburgh City turns up as last weekend,  then Elgin will win.

We'll need to play better than against Brechin to take anything from this but we're definitely capable. Saturday looks windy and possibly wet.

My pal's comment "hope it's the usual away form Elgin that turn up rather than the usual home form Elgin..".

My last prediction was overoptimistic so let's go for a narrow Elgin win to put the heebie jeebies on them.

Just glad Shane Sutherland is on one of his brief Elgin hiatus's to be honest. Would expect us to be better than last week and something other than crosses into seemingly immobile strikers would be lovely.

Meant to say, the stream last week was perfect, didn't miss a beat. Just the football that was pish.

Don’t think Shane missing is a factor. We are creating and scoring goals. Hope that continues! Think without him as a focal point we are actually playing better as a team with others taking more responsibility .

A wee bit breezy here in Edinburgh- perhaps a wind assisted cross could sneak in...

Come on City, do it for Shir Sean!

Terrible second half. Yes the wind was ridiculous but we were extremely sloppy playing out from the back, rushed at times and casual at others. Thought both centre halves were poor. We had some brilliant chances but still think a one goal margin is an accurate reflection, albeit it could've been much higher scoring in the first half alone. Frustrating but not disastrous.

Eta. Between Osadolar last week and Hester this that's two open goals missed from a total of about 5 yards.

Well the live stream picture was pretty good which was unfortunate as that was one of the worst games of football I’ve ever watched!! Wind was ridiculous as was the commentary. Edinburgh probably deserved the win so no real complaints about the result.

Thought we deserved a point but two sitters missed at 0 -0 was the game. Weather was the real winner. Neither team got a grips of it in second half.

Chose to watch this game today, thought elgin should've been 2 up within the first 20. Edinburgh too on the chance in the conditions though and saw the game out. I think both teams will be up there this season.

Not much point trying to say anything clever about that game, the wind made it a nonsense. At least 1 hysterical miss from Elgin early on so pretty happy to take the 3 points and never speak of this again
