Bestsinceslicebread
As the title says, are teams who have withdrawn from the WOSFL allowed to play friendlies. I've not seen anyone mention this or read about it anywhere else Obviously teams like Arthurlie and Glenafton have released all their players so I surmise they cannot play games but the teams like Pollok, Auchinleck etc are they allowed to as they are part of the WOSFL association so suppose their permission is required and in realty would any of the withdrawn teams want to play friendlies this season

I get that but I'm not asking that.. I'm asking are they allowed to do so and would they want too Not one team's main reason is about safety of players. its all about finance all the other reasons are secondary, the safety reason is just something to add on top of it. Out with all the finance, safety protocol and players safety are the withdrawn clubs allowed to play friendlies. ie. the WOSFL might not allow it as it might mess with their fixture program -

There was nothing stopping them from playing in the SCC for example. If Girvan and Auchinleck Talbot were to be selected for the Scottish Cup i'm sure they might try and play it. Even clubs that had said they were withdrawing in advance still played a friendly or two afterwards. Now that the season has actually started and a number of players moved on to other teams, the withdrawn clubs might go into hibernation. Then try and start playing again once crowds are allowed back in. In the list of possible sanctions for withdrawing after the November deadline is that they would no longer be insured to play friendlies.
clash city rocker
Clubs withdrawing prior to November deadline are insured for friendlies , clubs withdrawing after are not. Difficult to play a match with no players though
Meadowman
I wouldn’t think the SFA would condone these (friendlies) I don’t think they would have enough referees or linesmen to supervise the games
glensmad
Just to clarify a couple of points made above. No official list of possible sanctions for clubs withdrawing after November has been produced. And if teams retain their WoSFL membership and pay their insurance premium then there would be no reason why they wouldn't have insurance cover after November, even if they have withdrawn from playing this season.
