Dundonald v Newtongrange was reversed to Midlothian.

Commanding wins for Tranent and LTHV - but Penicuik lose their 100% record. Blackburn recorded their first points of the season with a good away win. Whitehill and Inverkeithing remain pointless but Swifts managed their first goal. High-scoring encounters at Hill of Beath, Musselburgh and Newtongrange.

Broxburn Athletic 3-1 Whitehill Welfare
Camelon 1-0 Penicuik Athletic
Crossgates Primrose 0-3 Lothian Thistle HV
Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts 1-5 Tranent
Jeanfield Swifts 3-0 Dunbar United
Newtongrange Star 1-5 Dundonald Bluebell
Hill of Beath Hawthorn 4-2 Tynecastle
Musselburgh Athletic 3-3 Linlithgow Rose

Good photos and highlights coming through from Scotland, just let the teams keep playing eh . No stupid lockdowns and then a mad dash reopening just for Christmas 🎄 Spread the virus, smash the shops and pubs, then reopen again, farcical stuff. Will definitely stream a game midweek if I can sort things , sounds like you're doing a great job keeping fans interested.

Great to see Hillfield get off the mark in style, well deserved 4-0 win vs Hill of Beath.

1st goal from Ynyr Liddell the pick of the bunch with an acrobatic effort from just inside the box.

Quite a few "shock" results today... Top of the bill must go to Inverkeithing who got their first points and moved off bottom in a Fife derby demolition of Hill of Beath. Newtongrange spanked Whitehill in a Midlothian derby to leave the visitors rock bottom - plus still pointless. Dunbar held leaders Tranent in a East Lothian derby. Broxburn beat Blackburn in a West Lothian derby. Sauchie shocked LTHV at Saughton Enclosure. Linlithgow drew again. Crossgates and Dundonald shared another Fife derby.

Broxburn Athletic 4-2 Blackburn United
Camelon 1-2 Musselburgh Athletic
Crossgates Primrose 0-0 Dundonald Bluebell
Dunbar United 1-1 Tranent
Hill of Beath Hawthorn 0-4 Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts
Linlithgow Rose 0-0 Jeanfield Swifts
Lothian Thistle HV 1-3 Sauchie
Newtongrange Star 5-0 Whitehill Welfare
Penicuik Athletic 2-1 Tynecastle

So where do we find ourself with the opening fifth of the campaign completed?

Tranent remain top but there are 5 clubs within 7pts. Whitehill go bottom with Crossgates, Inverkeithing and Blackburn also occupying relegation places.

Startling results as Tynecastle, Jeanfield and Sauchie pile on goals.

Linlithgow fall to LTHV, Penicuik strike late to hold Tranent, Crossgates land a first win and Newtongrange beat Dunbar.

Broxburn Athletic 0-3 Tynecastle
Dundonald Bluebell P-P Camelon (lights)
Newtongrange Star 2-0 Dunbar United
Penicuik Athletic 2-2 Tranent

Blackburn United 0-1 Crossgates Primrose
Hill of Beath Hawthorn 0-3 Jeanfield Swifts
Linlithgow Rose 2-3 Lothian Thistle HV
Sauchie 5-0 Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts

Jeanfield who are still unbeaten rise to 3rd.

Tranent prevailed comfortably in the top-of-the-table clash after LTHV went down to 10-men.

Whitehill game abandoned after bad injury to a Penicuik player while the visitors led by 1 goal in the Midlothian derby.

Elsewere it felt largely a return to business as usual. Jeanfield won again. Inverkeithing and Blackburn lost again as Linlithgow found a return to winning ways in the West Lothian derby. Musselburgh beat Dunbar in the East Lothian derby. Dundonald beat Hill of Beath in the Fife derby. Tynecastle rescued 1pt while Sauchie held Camelon in apparent thrillers.

Blackburn United 2-3 Linlithgow Rose
Dundonald Bluebell 3-2 Hill of Beath Hawthorn
Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts 0-2 Newtongrange Star
Jeanfield Swifts 3-1 Broxburn Athletic
Musselburgh Athletic 3-1 Dunbar United
Sauchie 4-4 Camelon
Tranent 4-1 Lothian Thistle HV
Tynecastle 3-3 Crossgates Primrose
Whitehill Welfare A-A Penicuik Athletic (injury)

Gap now opening-up between top 12 and bottom 6:

John Coughlin takes temporary charge at Dunbar United.

Tough game to start with next week against the big name in the EOSL, Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale

That’s a bold move , well done Dunbar pulling that one out of the bag!  It’s been a tough start to the season.

On paper, I agree with you, but I genuinely hope it doesn’t leave Dunbar in a worse place afterwords!

Think I read that with John coming in, a first team coach left the club. Not sure if he left due to the arrival of John or not. Also, if and I hope Geoff does return to the club, it may put extra pressure on him with John there! Again I may be well off mark!

As an East Lothian club I want to see Dunbar remain in the Premier league so hope the move is a positive one!!

I think George Thomson has been quite well travelled and again it hasn't worked at Dunbar.  Perhaps a rash move to replace Stevie McLeish who would have been a big loss.
