Is the Um Bongo advert acceptable to post nowadays?

Fuckall wrong with it.

From memory...

"Way down deep in the middle of the jungle

A hippo took an apricot a guava and a mango

He put them altogether and he danced a dainty tango

The rhino said "I know, we'll call it Um Bongo"

Um Bongo Um Bongo they drink it in the Congo

The python picked the passionfruit

The marmoset the mandarin

The parrot painted packets that the whole caboodle landed in in

So when it comes to sun and fun and goodness in the jungle

They all prefer the sunny funny one they call Um Bongo

Um Bongo Um Bongo, the drink it in the Congo".

Just a load of jungle animals having a song, a dance and a wee drink.

Not sure if it qualifies as a jingle but I also remember (in cold fury) the tag line at the end of the adverts for the Time Capsule in Coatbridge. An annoying brat in a rubber ring squeaking,

”it’s the biggest fun in a million years!”

I was talking to someone about this recently. There was also a song on the advert that was something like "The Time Capsule, Monklands, The Time Capsule, Monklands, If you take a trip down the M8 Motorway..."

Cadbury's Caramel launched with a sexy animated rabbit, and that was before Who Framed Roger Rabbit? came out. Some utter deviants working in animation.

Mind the late Eighties/early Nineties period when late-night TV was full of ads for 0898 phone chat lines that, worryingly, people must have used. The first one started the trend of being five seconds long and consisting of nothing but the phone number being repeated twice (OH-EIGHT-NINE-EIGHT-TWENNYWON! TWENNYWON! TWENNYWON!), which every other advert copied.

Except for the one about speaking to priests that you want to know, of course.

Oh-eight-nine-one FIFTY! FIFTY! FIFTY!

You probably shouldn't Google "Who provided the voice for the Cadbury's Caramel rabbit."
