Serbia V Scotland - EURO 2020 Playoff Final ( Thursday 12th November)

Recommended Posts

No.

90 minutes away from qualifying.

Hoping that Clarke can mould a good counter attacking side in a game where we're not going to be favourites. But I really don't think we stand much of a chance here. I think it's about 75-25 in Serbia's favour.

Need Kevin McDonald and Tom Cairney to cause a covid outbreak at Fulham so Mitrovic can’t play

Marshall

Palmer Cooper Gallagher Tierney

Armstrong Brown 8) McGinn

Fraser Griffiths Christie

It won’t happen but I would genuinely have Scott Brown back if it was possible. Savic will be a huge threat and Brown was superb against him twice last season in Europe against Lazio. We also need a leader in there, Robertson isn’t that - again he was so underwhelming tonight.
Ive put Christie out wide as I can’t think of anyone else who offers a decent threat going forward, probably forgotten someone.

Serbia do have some decent players but Mitrovic isn’t that good. If he was, he’d be playing for a better team than Fulham.

Worried about what Milinkovic-Savic will do to that midfield.

On the other hand, six games unbeaten indicates Sir Steve has another #juggernaut. Anyone got a form table?

He has scored 35 goals in 58 games for Serbia. We'd kill for a Scot to have they sort of goalscoring stats.

We will definitely need to raise our game, Serbia away is a step up from Israel.

We looked a bit more solid defensively, not sold on some of our defensive options but we'll need to see who is available by the time this game comes around.

Hoping for a fit Ryan Fraser ( for the speedy , effective counter attacks )

I agree but I’d rather play against Mitrovic than Haaland. I’m just trying to stay positive

I just want to say 2 things.

1, it's nice to have something major to look forward too

2, you'd rather play Serbia than Norway the way big Haaland has been.

Gallagher Cooper Tierney

Palmer                        Robertson

    Armstrong McTominay Christie

       Shanks.          Dykes.

All out and get some creativity up there. Shanks can drop back a bit to help with linking up with play. Replace Palmer with Fraser when the Serbs tire out and McGinn for Armstrong or Christie in the second half.

There is 0 (as in zero) chance that Scott Brown will play in this game. Thankfully.

Roberston is a leader.

Christie out wide would be the choice of a madman.

5 weeks till this one - just enough time for me to build up false hope after that turgid shitshow last night.

Will Serbia be allowed fans?

Seems like NI had to play away in a stadium with crowds last night.

I'm completely lost as to which country has relaxed restrictions and who hasn't.

I think 800 fans or something like that. Scotland could have had fans last night but the Gov advised against

Their game against Hungary on Sunday wont have any fans. No fans allowed in the league games up to at least 18th October which is the Belgrade derby.

I think it's not so much 'advised against' as the government making the decision and not really caring what UEFA or the SFA had to say about it.

Will be interesting if we do somehow qualify and the Scottish Government's rules are still more strict than UEFA's re fans. Usually government's practically cede sovereignty to UEFA/FIFA for these tournaments. Would certainly be weird if (say) Scotland played 2 matches at Hampden behind closed doors and played England at Wembley in front of some fans.
