Leigh Griffiths

That’s a pretty bizarre post unless the people who’ve called for Griffiths to come in specifically made those criticisms of Mcburnie.

You can’t just call everyone a hypocrite based on opinions of completely different people.

Go read his thread yourself and see

Guy plays a friendly to get sharp

So he wants to be 100% and not let Scotland down

Guy who goes through all the levels with us

Slaughtered for the usual reasons by usual suspects

And we know the main two reasons why he is hated

And we wonder why Grant and Adams

Don't want to play for us?

Again, Person A asking for something is not necessarily a hypocrite because Person B, C or D had an opinion about a different player. That’s not how it works.

I don't care you don't get to make the rules

Look at the mess of this post

Guy never even know about the covid bubble

It's what we are up against

We have a fit Dykes that hasn't mist a game

And Shankland back fit and scoring goals

Let them do there job if they start or get back on

Instead of living in the past about players who haven't started a game

Interesting how divisive this discussion became imo.

My thinking is that there may be a benefit in having any version of leigh griffiths on the bench incase we are struggling late on and need a goal. A set piece outside the box for instance

Would it be the worst thing in the world to bring him on and give him the opportunity to prove he can do; what he done against England twice at our potentially our most vital/desperate moment in years ?

I've been wrong before but personally,  I would like to see us have that option up our sleeve.

Even unwell and unfit he’s still better than the rest of the shite we have.

If he can play for Celtic then he can play for Scotland.

Well, that's just wrong.  We're far too guilty of doing this, looking at whatever we're not doing, and saying that that's obviously the answer (until of course we try that answer, and surprise it turns out to be shit).  Rhodes was the answer when he wasn't picked.  Fletcher was the answer when he took the huff.  Shankland's the answer.  A fully fit Griffiths is probably the best option we have, but he's miles from that mark.  If these were pishy wee games that didn't matter, and he'd played a few more games, he'd probably have been a squad option.  Instead, he's played 14 minutes in 6 months, and we're facing our biggest match in decades.

This is a confusing post, first part. We're guilty of discussing about how to improve our team? Christ, imagine that. Shocking.

2nd bold bit. Right Griffiths is "probably the best option we have" The majority agree.

But you don't want him called up because.

Hes "miles" from full fitness?? How fit is he? Do you have any data, or is this just a complete guess.

If hes playing first team football for celtic. Then I'd say its unlikely he's "miles" from match fitness. More likely he's quite close to match fitness. Certainly fit enough to come off the bench for us.

So taking away your unfounded guess at his level of fitness. And then taking away the crazy statement that we shouldn't discuss improving our team. While you discuss the team.

Then you also think he should be in the squad.

The squad got named before Griffiths started any competitive game this season meaning he hasn't started a game of football since goodness knows when.  I still think he will need to leave Celtic if he is to ever play for Scotland again, I just dont see him getting a regular run of games.

On his game, and with his mind right he is our best natural number 9.

Seeing as Clarke said he plans to bring 2/3 players into the squad it likely shows the supposed rule that players can’t be brought into the squad due to the bubbles isn’t true?

We probably couldn't easily bring anyone in ahead of last night due to the short turnaround with the UEFA testing, but there is no issue in general with adding to your squad. I would guess they'll all have to be domestic based players (might include England too) who have been part of a testing regime at club level.
