Celtic v Rangers October 17th 12:30pm

Recommended Posts

Its early still but the strikers instinct of someone like Eduoard is missing here for Celtic. Someone making the right runs might have created more out of some of these balls into the box, or a chance like Elyounoussi got.

That said, Eduaord has been w**k since the first week too. Hard to see Celtic outscoring the **** here.

I’ve got Dutch commentators on my stream.. infinitely preferable to anyone sky use for Scottish football

Ian Crocker lives for these OF games, he sounds like he’s got his trousers at his ankles every time anyone plays a 10 yard pass. At least we are spared the commentators telling us how good the atmosphere is every ten minutes, although McCoist has already used the ‘you don’t get time on the ball in an Old Firm game’, like getting closed down quickly is something that only ever happens when these two teams play.

Shane Duffy's not very good, is he? Extremely slow.

On another note, getting tired of Ally McCoist effusively praising Rangers players for doing things which are extremely standard in football.

Duffy reminds me of end of career Stephen McManus.  Just a big lump, all elbows and the turning circle of the QE2.

They're so easy to predict.  They do the same passage of play for 90 minutes every single game.

Aye. In their last game we sat deep, stopped the CBs playing to a CM, and they looked utterly fucked until they brought on 5 International attackers and pretty much went 6 up front. We even created the best chance of the match through a counter.

Quite why Lennon decided to do the exact same, against a team levels above St Johnstone in general, and on the counter, is known only to him.

It'll forever stagger me he got the job permanently after Rodgers left. One of the most cowardly appointments of all time.

Very end to end, not sure if it’s because the defending is fairly mediocre or because there’s no caginess without a crowd.

Often happens in Old Firm fixtures. Commentators usually describe it as a "frantic affair" which means both sides are void of any real technical ability.

Rangers look more composed and more organised than Celtic in both defence and midfield. To be quite honest, a better side.

Celtic are very much becoming a bunch of individuals thrown out onto a park over the last year or so whilst Rangers have been building a team and a coherent style.
