I'd love to see the interview process in full flow. Just the three of them and Ian Maxwell sat round a table get tanned into a bottle of Grouse and throwing darts at the other CVs that have been submitted.

How many people do you think apply to be Scotlands U19 manager?

I dont have a factual answer for you.

If its actually advertised, and people within the game were made aware. There would be floods of applications.

I dont think the reason we keep appointing the same 3 guys is due to lack of applications.

Its jobs for the boys.

This is just it, they can't be sacked. It seems there's no targets, no aims. Just come along pick a team. Who cares

Probably worth pointing out that after Billy Stark quit as Under 21s coach, he was replaced by Ricky Sbragia.  When Sbragia was sacked as under 21s coach, he was replaced by under 19s coach Scotland Gemmill.   When Scotland under 19s coach Scott Gemmill left the job to take over the under 21s, he was replaced as under 19s coach by former under 21s coach Ricky Sbragia.  And when Ricky Sbragia packed his bags for a second time, he was replaced as under 19s coach by former (and failed) under 21s coach Billy Stark.

So was Sbragia sacked or what?

Did he ever find his level? Under 15s?

Sacked , rehired and then resigned.  At some point he was working in the Man Utd system.  No idea and not much interest in where he is now, except to say his team better be bloody tall and run about an awful lot.

It seems like he tested positive during the game, which is utterly bizarre. Surely they have it set up so you get the results before the game?  The whole thing is just farcical.

They got the results for this game some days ago, the test that is positive has been part of the protocol for Sunday’s game.

It was time for a change at u19/u21 level years ago. Surely this level of mismanagement can't go on.

Failing to qualify tonight from such a good position. Wrong players on the pitch, wrong players in the squad.

Negative archaic long ball tactics.

Is there any suggestions who we could bring in? Is it worth trying to steal another smaller nations successful teams?

I would let Steve Clarke appoint people to both positions to give a bit of continuity and overall cohesion through the whole structure.  Maybe Steven Reid would want one, maybe even Alex Dyer the other.

Maybe not a bad idea to have clarke's input. Im sure he's got alot of contacts who could point us in the direction of the upcoming talented interested youth coaches.

So who would you have in the squad who wasn't?
