Motherwell v Rangers

Recommended Posts

Solid performance all round, nobody really playing poorly for us. Stand outs were Helander, Tav and Arfield (again). Another two assists for him today and he has been in great form recently.

Unlucky not to have scored another at the end through Defoe but no complaints really.

I thought Bassey was fine, but I’m really hoping that Barisic will be fit enough for Thursday night.

Delighted for Itten and Tav.

Rangers’ squad depth compared to Motherwell really stood out today after the midweek Euro games.

This’ll put some pressure on Celtic this afternoon but you’d still expect them to get the win at home, even against Hibs who are in good form at the moment.

Our whole backline will be sent off, the rest of the team booked, Rangers will get 8 penalties and Chris Long will miss 4 sitters.. 8-0 Rangers and our manager will blame the cold weather

Not far away from being true

Quite pleased to see Jordan Jones getting a start and do alright. Thought he’d got a bit of a crap deal when it was said that Rangers were trying to move him on. Gave the side a good balance playing on the right of the front three before his injury. Would rather see him playing that role than Haji, Aribo or Barker.

Lamie was shite in the Championship. Christ knows how he's playing in the Premiership. He must have the same agent as Jordan Whyte.

Lamie was consistently good in the Championship for years at both centre back and left back, to the point that getting a move was no surprise.

Something is clearly very wrong though if mistakes like the second goal today have been par for the course this season. While he was always a better centre back than left back and obviously he's up against a far higher calibre of opposition than when I was watching him regularly, making such a basic positional error was like watching him as an out of position 21 year old he didn't have a clue what he was doing again. There's the obvious explanation that his limitations are just being exposed in the Premiership in a way they weren't at a lower level, but he obviously can't have been this bad for Livingston either or he wouldn't have been playing regularly as they were finishing in top six.
