ShaunYouCrazy
So the understanding is that government guidelines state outdoor contact sports up to 30 people on a pitch don’t have to be tested so leagues below the Premiership don’t have to test. Why are Premiership teams still being made to test? I understand some players are concerned they may be at risk but surly they are in the same position as anyone else who is working in a non-tested environment.
SUPERSOUTH
I thought premiership teams were only getting tested because they got special permission to start playing football earlier as long they tested. Surely they are now they are the same as everybody else and shouldn't need tested....... Edited September 25, 2020 by SUPERSOUTH
ShaunYouCrazy
Apparently Premiership teams are still testing twice a week and Ian McCall stated Gerry Britton agreed to also test weekly in a League 1 executives meeting. obviously more testing in general is better but the financial strain it will put on clubs when it isn’t required by government just feels unnecessary.
Black and White Tragic
Maybe because 1. They can afford it, 2. It will provide early intelligence on how it spreads in football playing environment. All the more reason that their players should have been avoiding pubs and not going abroad. TxRover
So Forfar show up with a positive reported before a Betfred match vs. Dundee. This wasn’t a SPFL mandated test, but simply a player who had a test for another reason, and now Forfar can’t field a team because of isolation requirements. Waiting to see the dates, because that could also crash their first match depending on the possible 14 day isolation window. Has interesting implications for the lower leagues, will this spur a move to require testing at lower levels?
