I know someone involved in non league in England and when asked about social distancing said we tell them and have some signs up but we can’t make them.

This is why we can't have nice things.

What I don't understand is how they can't see that if we all screw the nut now, we'll be out of this sooner. I've been watching the rugby in New Zealand and Australia and they've got thousands in the grounds, because they got on top of it. That could have been us by now.

You can hardly cite New Zealand, they continually ignore FB for their advice.

You can't really compare them with Scotland. Australia for example, WA is still closed internally and externally, as is Queensland and Victoria, if you want to travel interstate you need to get permission and quarantine on arrival. That is why the AFL Final was in Queensland, first time ever outside of Melbourne.

They won't be able to open up their borders until there's a vaccine otherwise Covid will sweep through a population that hasn't really been exposed to it. Same with NZ. There are still Australians stuck in Europe as they cant get home due to limits on flights/quarantine hotels.

Meanwhile, we have open borders with England.

Yeah, there's nothing Australia has done that the UK couldn't do if it wanted to. The guidance asks us not to travel between England and Scotland or England and Wales, and in Scotland not to travel outside their area without a good reason, but people will do it anyway.

West Lothian has become a real hot-spot now, the worst outside West Central Scotland and more than double the rate of the rest of Lothian. Thankfully the recent restrictions seem to have caused the rise in number of cases to top out, but 64 deaths reported in Scotland today is grim.

I'm sure we all have moments when the restrictions are tougher to live with than others, and for me the thought of missing Glasgow Uni v Linlithgow Rose is a sore one.

Lossiemouth v Deveronside tomorow is the first game at Highland level to go ahead with a crowd. They expect around 100 but more can be admitted if necessary.

Interestingly it's not all-ticket (although it is free). Fans enter through the turnstiles, receive a temperature check, and leave their tracing details. Hand sanitiser will be available and spots a suitable distance apart will be marked on the terracing. Presumably indicates the sort of measures which will be needed whenever other parts of the country can follow suit.

Also interesting HL are OK with away dressing rooms being located off-site: in this case Lossiemouth's social club 2 streets away.

Fraserburgh had talked of renting a church hall across the road.

Australia and NZ learned about how to deal with covid from the bad experiences of others. This seems to be over-looked sometimes as time blurs the facts !

That's like going back 150 years! Hearts used to change in a pub near the East Meadows when they played there.

Crowds return to Inverness + Brora + Clachnacuddin (for an U20s playoff final) this weekend.

Seemingly various limits 300/150/100.

Some authorities moved further off but Midlothian, East Lothian and Borders are 1 tier away.

The Clach game is a bounce match between the A-team and the u21s, BCD. I managed to buy a ticket by accident while they were playing with the website, and got an email explaining it was a mistake. Brora are talking 150, I'd imagine Clach will be the same but nothing's finalised. The play off final for the U21s is on Monday 30th v Elgin City, hopefully I'll be there.

Will be interesting when some EoS clubs are able to admit crowds when Level 1 is hit, but other clubs cannot because they're still in a high level area. Unfair advantage?

It certainly helps.  However each club that gets approval is a win for everyone.

We know when they will be approved, when Level 1 is hit.  That potentially could happen in the next couple of months, whilst some areas may not hit Level 1 this season.  It's certainly a point for consideration if and when it happens.

It seems being in level 1 only makes it possible,  it doesn’t mean you automatically can have fans.  Clubs need to go through the process with SFA, which given by Highland clubs doesn’t seem to be particularly quick.

If pubs are allowed to open in level 2 but no spectators allowed until level 1 then we'll be in the crazy situation where you will be able to watch a game inside in a social club but not outside at the park next door... Mental.

that may change if they get nearly everyone down to tier 2.

Scenario already occurred earlier in autumn.

Annan were allowed about 50 people (47 rings a bell) in their social club, indoors, sitting, 1m apart, without masks (at that time), drinking...

... watching live feed of game happening literally through-the-wall which it was forbidden to view outdoors, standing in fresh-air, 2m+ apart, wearing masks, etc.

Knowing this governments bad handling of the pandemic, expect they'll turn opposite - you can now watch the game outdoors, but you can't go in the clubhouses 🍺  Don't think people mind, it's just the hypocrisy around their baffling decisions that drive you mad. Well done to getting all the games played this weekend, and thanks for the streaming guys.
