St Johnstone vs Ross County - 19/09/20, 3.00pm

Recommended Posts

Everyone else bored with the season already, or just saints fans with some rinse and repeat performances where we look good and still lose.

Seems County are playing better football this season, but are still conceding goals, so maybe that’ll help our goal shy strikers.

Either way, please drop O’Halloran and play 2 specialist strikers from the start in this one!

Nope.  This is the apathy derby.  I’d quite happily call the season off now.  Both teams to score seems a good bet.  Other than that, I have no views or opinions.

I'd like a few changes in the line up to be honest.

Laidlaw was absolutely stinking against Celtic and Livi so deserves to be dropped.

I'd imagine Mckay is out.

                         Doohan

Randall  Watson Iacovitti  Reid

                Vigurs   Tilson

                        Paton

   Gardyne   Shaw  Stewart.

I'd like to see Grivosti come in next to Vigurs and just sit in front of the back 4 but don't think he'll be ready.

I'm uninterested enough to simply copy and paste from the Motherwell game.

//////

An injury, suspension and covid-free squad to pick from, so a far better bench than we've had all season. Surely it's time to start Stevie and Hendry up front.

Conway looked effective in the no.10 position. Kerr and Murray gives  a couple of options at crosses.

                           Parish

D.Mac  Kerr  Gordon  McCart  Tanser

                McCann     Muzz

                       Conway

            Hendry              May

... but think CD will go with one up front and an extra midfielder (Craig I would guess).

Confident-ish of a narrow win here, should be a far better  similar account of ourselves than the dismal  fairly decent show last time at Fir Park McDairmid.

1 - 0, McNamara and plenty a couple of cards for both teams.

Edited by Valentino Bolognese
Copied the same mistake Kerr. Not Herr.

Felt like we battered County last season yet didnt win, so itll be nice and ironic if we play shite and win this, and honestly I'd take that.

Agree we need to play two strikers up top, even if its just to relieve some pressure on Hendry, who seems to be struggling a bit.

Are St Johnstone still charging £17.50 PPV? Both clubs have advertised it on Twitter without mentioning the price, and it looks like I have to register on SaintsTV to get that level of detail.

I'd imagine the answer that question is yes.

Mullin in for shaw and that looks good , also think maybe draper in for tillson but that’s a tricky one to judge

I'm not at all looking forward to it. The stream will be shite. We'll probably be shite and County will score a breakaway goal with 12 minutes to go, get three sent off and cling on for dear life as we're denied two stonewall penalties in the dying minutes.

Or.......we might just try something a wee bit different, dominate the game like we did against the Paisley Saints and actually take some of our chances.

Odds for both?

1/100 Option A
100/1 Option B

I've paid the £17.50 for this.

I've already lost interest.

Watching County at the minute for want of a better expression is mostly just depressing pish.

Interspersed with a few periods when we pass the ball about, breakdown defences, look exciting

then fail miserably to put the ball in the net

then give them the ball/soft penalty/free shot

i think I just agreed, depressing pish....

So County still try and isolate Stewart at the back post off the left hand wing. Cause I actually think that’ll be an advantage for saints given Jason Kerr will cover him and I doubt Stewart is going to want to do the same the other way!

Suspect he’ll play through the middle, as Mckay went off with an injury - and our medical staff are notoriously incompetent.

Shame, albeit if that’s the case he’s up against 3 centrebacks instead of one. All of whom are good in the air. I actually think you’d be better off with Shaw playing since Liam Gordon has been poorer this season and rasher in the tackle, get in and around his feet and you’d be on to a winner potentially.

Still this is probably going to come down to whether we can exploit your left hand side and whether you can control the midfield. I’d hope we have a 3 in the middle and that we don’t just stand off Vigurs letting him try and dictate from deep, especially since he takes risks and can be a bit lax at times.
