Did he ever publicly admit to who he voted for at the last leadership contest?

No but it quite obviously was Sunak...when it came to the membership vote that is. Then a few short weeks later he proclaimed that Truss would lead the Tories to election victory...whilst demanding that the SNP pass on all the Kwasi Kwateng tax cuts in Scotland....I dont think that he has commented on that since the government collapsed so I assume his position on this remains the same...........

Ross apparently has said he is opposed to Johnson returning - cue another u-turn.

Any even casual observer of Dross recently would conclude that he is firmly in favour of, or opposed to, things... until he isn't.

If BoJo returns, it will surely be the end of the Scottish Tories... won't it?

Serious point.  In any functioning democracy it is important that all political opinions are represented and people have the opportunity to vote according to their beliefs.

From a Scottish perspective it’s gratifying that the last time the Tories got the biggest vote for Westminster was 67 years ago, they have been in decline since and that will never change IMO, even post-Independence.  Until Independence the Tories will jostle with the branch office for political relevance.

Even then it was the Scottish Unionists that got the vote.

I don't know. There's a few Conservative type parties have won elections in newly independent European states.

If a post independence Scottish Conservative Party was a mildly pro-business, "one nation" European style right wing party they could conceivably enter a coalition with the Lib Dems

If they remain a Republican style libertarian swivel eyed loon party far from their counterparts in Europe then they can forget it

I suppose anything can happen but for the last six decades the people of Scotland have consistently voted Labour, which they certainly perceived as the left-of-centre option, then the SNP which is certainly more radical than any of the other mainstream alternatives.  There’s nothing to suggest a move to the right or even centre-right.

DRoss must be thinking that it is almost safe to tell "his followers" that he is backing Rishi soon.

Mentioning something about Sunak being the only person able to stabilise the markets and economy.........perhaps not mentioning that the SNP should still follow the Truss / Kwateng tax cutting plan that led to absolute chaos (he'll want us to forget about that of course......but we winna)

The Conservative Party would have to re-brand in an independent Scotland. The current Scottish Tories have one main policy and independence would see them become utterly irrelevant since said policy would no longer have any relevance, meaning or purpose.
