Last seasons suspensions

Anyone know what the script is with players who had game bans to serve before the seasons were all finished due to pandemic. Would like to think the Safa will show a bit of sense and wipe the slate clean. Not fair the time based suspensions have won a watch and hardly missed any football but someone with a one game or two game ban has to sit the start of the season out.

Bit strange this one. If suspensions remain guys who had a 1 game suspension for a very minor thing will miss games. Then guys who got a 6 month suspension for spitting, headbutting or whatever will miss ZERO games. Is that fair????

But is it fair that a guy who had a 3 game suspension would not be punished at all, so misses the same amount of football as someone who has not had any suspension?

Two wrongs don’t make a right.

Thats a good shout, maybe thr answer is stop the time for the dated suspension from when Covid stopped football then restart from 01/10 or whenever we get back to it.

Two wrongs don’t make a right FFS I gave you more credit than that. It’s two different ‘wrongs’ Any right minded person would scrap the game suspensions after seven months of not being able to complete a ban for probably minor offences but the guy whose head butted or done worse could be getting off Scot free We are going to have a problem at all levels trying to get guys back playing and we should be encouraging people to play not stopping them for in light of what we’ve been through, are trivial offences.

Two guys get sent off for denying a goal scoring opportunity and get a one match ban each, one of them was a nothing foul but the other one broke a guy’s leg. Same punishment but which one is more trivial and who decides?

Or a guy that punches another player and gets a 6 match ban should just be ignored? Or a guy that breaks another guy’s leg in a bad tackle gets a 3 match ban that should be ignored?

This was my take on it. It serves no purpose keeping boys banned. What about the leagues that null and voided or cancelled should they bans still stand as officially the season didn’t happen.

Exactly You treat them the same whether leg is broken or not so after seven months just treat the players suspended for games the same as the players with a time ban Let them off with it

Dated suspension has always been a hit and miss ......player given 2 month suspension over the winter period may miss less games than the player giving  a 4 match suspension, or another example over the winter period  a player giving a 4 game ban is out longer than the 2 month suspended player......so a I said its been  hit and miss for years...

Agreed they can be a bit of a hit and miss due to weather etc but this is a global pandemic. SAFA/Leagues need to show a bit of common sense and put in place some emergency ruling to avoid guys who have already had months without football having that extended because of a mimimal fixed penalty offence. The SFA threw the rule book out the window when it came to being cup tied in the Scottish Cup so its not impossible if you have the will and the common sense.
