Kilmarnock v Dundee Utd 29/08/20

Recommended Posts

Having seen the positive start that United have made to the season I am confident of a positive a positive result at Rugby Park.

There is no doubt that Killie will be tough opposition and I am always wary of United on a plastic pitch.

I have no idea how close to a return Shankland is to a return from injury and wether or not he has any chance of being involved even if off the bench but would not be upset if he is not risked on the plastic surface just yet.

My prediction is a 2-1 win for United in this one.

Looking at the history of this fixture, what stood out is that there have been all sorts of results down the years- wins, draws and losses for both clubs.

This is a tough one to call but if I had to give a prediction it would be 3-0 to United with a Shankland hat trick.

I recall a fine hat trick of free kicks at Rugby Park by Ray McKinnon not something to forget easily.

I forsee Sporle coming on and going for a late kamikaze run across our own box to sell Benji out.

Other than that,  I agree with your prediction.

It really could only go one of two ways.

Either somebody will win - or both of you will draw.

I say that you've both got a 50/50 chance of picking up some points here. Good luck guys!

Read on another forum that Steve Clarke has said Micky told him he expects Shankland to play some part in this one.

While it will be very nice to see Shankland back I would have thought that the plastic pitch would have been a risk so soon after his injury.

Last season seems like it was months ago but wasn't Reynolds left out for games on plastic pitches last season and the year before?

Reynolds issues are his knees. Thought Shankland just had a minor ankle injury, no surgery and just wasnt being rushed back.
