Absolutely delighted that VAR continues to be incredibly shite and is ruining so many people's enjoyment of games.

Because they all totally deserve it. They cried and moaned about decisions for years, with nonsense like referees cost people their jobs with decisions and other way over the top criticisms of the entire official team after multiple angle, slow motion replays.

Long may it continue, and let us hope that VAR is never introduced in Scotland.

Yep, it's glorious to see. Seeing a game actually having to restart was funny as fuck. This is what they wanted and were told could happen.

Surely they'd no-one up here that thinks it's a good idea anymore?

Indeed, but the warnings weren't heeded.

You'd hope not

Handball in the box should just be punished by an indirect free kick, with the exception of a penalty and red card for professional efforts (goal-line saves etc.) The real issue here is not actually VAR so much as there being an illogical and completely disproportionate sanction for a regular chance occurrence in the game.

They're saying that it wasn't in the immediate lead-up to the goal.

So basically feel free to catch the ball as long as you don't stick it in the net straight after

Well no, because that would be deliberate handball...

It's much improved this season because any accidental handball by an attacking player must come immediately before a goal or goal scoring opportunity.

It already happened in a Bundesliga game. And the same could occur in any game without VAR as the referee can change their decision after they've blown for HT/FT, so long as they've not left the field of play. An eagle eyed assistant could spot something before the FT whistle is blown and the ref could still go back and award a penalty.

This requires the use of common sense.

I guess it is the same with offside. The law itself needs to be changed to something that is easier to judge. That a players nipple or armpit can be offside is a nonsense. I would personally make it either : only feet can be offside or go back to the 'daylight' days.

As for handball it's a messy one and agree that not every handball by a defending player in the box should merit a penalty but again it's open to subjectivity. As you say, a Suarez style save on the line should unquestionably be a penalty but a handball from a ricochet or bounce like we saw with Manchester United v Palace and Southampton v Spurs last week is beyond harsh. Something needs to be done before we're seeing penalties awarded ten-a-penny for nothing handballs.

A poor game this between two poor quality sides, both will have a season of struggle

As I say that this goal would take Leeds’s 6th

What is Leeds's 6th and why would a goal take it?

Bad take.

Leeds will finish top half. Sheffield United won't hit the hights of last season but will comfortably avoid relegation.
