What harm would it do to say Team A is playing a friendly v Team B on a date to be arranged all going well ?
glensmad
What harm would it do to say Team A is playing a friendly v Team B on a date to be arranged all going well ?Clubs need to wait to see what protocols need to be put in place for starting to play games, and also need to wait till the SFA say games can be played, before they can announce fixtures. The clubs have all been very firmly told not to announce any friendly matches until the Scottish Government advice changes.
Andy groundhopper
Any news on the amateurs arranging friendlies etc ? Guessing that using council pitches for games makes it nigh on impossible. Hopefully all the clubs will now be patient and await the restart date, nothing to be gained from training and playing too early.
ralphpdk
Thanks for this and keeping it updated even though we won't see football till the new year at earliest .When next year? Ireland and England have got grassroots football teams back playing friendlies at least Do you not think that’s strange and we can’t even train
Tutankhamen
We have the nonsensical farce of Hull City training in Edinburgh with the SFA having zero control over them but dare to mention a local friendly game and it's Burn at the Stake time. Edited August 14, 2020 by Tutankhamen Eff the SFA
Andy groundhopper
You would think that an ex Premier League club would have their own training grounds, academies to use, unless they've squandered all their Premier Lge riches of course. Why couldn't they go and use St.Georges Park, theFA place, too expensive I reckon.

None whatsoever. It allows the people who want us locked in our houses forever though to take some sort of moral high ground.

jaggyness
So nothing to stop our Scottish teams nipping over the border to train then? Can imagine that will be happening There is, the jrg has mandated that scottish clubs outwith the Premiership and Glasgow City cannot train. The location is irrelevant. It's the governing body of which you are a member that is the issue.

Andy groundhopper
Just about sums it all up I guess ! Warm weather training or a pre season beer-up like the good old days for the champs ? Quite a few friendlies around today, temp checks on the way in, hand sanitizer on entry, socially distanced around the ground, hope it all goes ok.

Andy groundhopper
I can understand clubs organising friendlies, debatable whether they get played at all. With leagues announcing fixtures, I'd like them to deliver the Covid19 statement before everyone gets too excited. IF the season isn't completed we will do this.... at least we will all know beforehand. Maybe the SFA /SPFL could lead the way ? Second thoughts
Meadowman
We’ve arranged friendlies (they might take place) but there won’t be any spectators allowed in
