Livingston v Rangers - Sun 16th

Recommended Posts

Back to our defensive best, chucking bodies in front of every shot and defending balls into the box from crosses, much much better from us. Now that Holt is back to a flat back four, playing players in their proper positions, everyone has slotted in and played a blinder, Guthrie was immense again, Fitzwater was also superb, after being extremely dodgy playing in a back three, McMillan was solid as usual (should now be getting regular starts as a FB), and even Devlin who had a mare against Hibs, looked solid.

We didn't have much of an attacking threat but thought Hammy did well enough leading the line in the first half, before running out of steam and being subbed, wouldn't judge Poplatnik and Sal on this game, they'll have better chances to show what they can do against other teams where we'll actually play attacking football and give them support, this wasn't the game for them to do that. We were setting out not to lose and with the shambolic defending we've been doing in our first three games I doubt anyone (incl Livi fans) thought we'd get a point here, so massive well done to the players and management team.

Think that's 3 seasons running where we've been first to take points off the team that was sitting top of the table, Hearts 2 seasons ago, Celtic last season, and Sevco today.

Oh and forgot to say, Stryjek deserves to keep his starting place against Aberdeen next weekend, looked a lot better than McCrorie in that game today, commanded his box well and his decision making looks better too, cracking save from the free kick as well.

Hibs were top of the table.

Rangers fans are the absolute worst after a bad result for raging and labelling all their players shite and not fit for the club etc

Apparently the difference was we managed to score early so Livi could not sit back

We had a shambolic setup in the first two games. Today we had McMillan in at full back (he deserved to play from round 1) and Ambrose out (LWB not his position, obviously) as well as a flat four. The 5 goals conceded in first two games were absolute schoolboy stuff. That’s not to take anything away from St Mirren and Hibs who were defensively excellent and much improved, respectively

Everyone apart from Rangers fans themselves can see they have the best team they can afford.
