Celtic were forced to play the last two games with a weakened squad yet any other team in the country wouldn't fulfill the fixture get a fine and play the games with a full squad at a later date.

Hamilton hit back at Celtic boss Neil Lennon following 'no social distancing' claim

Accies have now responded in a statement and confirmed they are satisfied by the protocols in place at the Fountain of Youth Stadium. It read:
“It is not our policy to comment on statements made by other clubs. "We are content that we meet the most stringent standards of Covid protocols for all people visiting our stadium.”

Right this is a Brewsters millions scenario being played out here.  Has to be.  I could manage to win the league for Celtic doing my team talk using only interpretive dance and sock puppets.  Even with Shane Duffy.  f**k I could sign Kyle Lafferty and put him in goals.  We'd still piss the league.

Some rich as f**k Rangers fan has died and left a video will for Lennon.

He has absolutely lost his grip on reality and Celtic either need to get him help or take him out of the firing line for his own good now. Celtic should have put him on gardening leave before today was done. He has utterly misjudged both the mood of the country (granted he probably doesnt care about that) AND the mood of his own support. Even Lawwell in the face of a barrage of criticism reluctantly issued an apology. As soon as he is out in public Lennon come out swinging and retracts most of that apology. He apologises only to Celtic fans who were denied seeing 13 players for two games but he also blames 'ridiculous' rules for that so he isnt really apologising because he thinks they did nothing wrong!

Someone in Celtic's media team should have pulled him out of that when it became clear what he was saying.

Personally I couldnt care less that they were seen round the pool or having a beer. Not bothered in the slightest. They could be doing that in their houses at home. Nor do I care whether its illegal to take a photo in Dubai. Wind yer neck in Neil. Nobody cares for your victim card.

I am concerned about some of the absolute rubbish he talked though. He is deluded.. "Everyone's negative", well apart from the two who are positive anyway! But that shows what world class protocols Celtic have. ONLY two people got it so thats ok. If Celtic didnt have world class protocols they would have had dozens presumably? Gie's peace. Celtic's protocols are no different to everyone else's except they have bigger facilities and their players can afford to travel everywhere alone. They wash their hands, the socially distance, they test weekly. So does everyone else Neil, what magic wand extra world class protection are Celtic offering?

Why does he think its 'ridiculous' he and his players have to isolate? Are he and his players exempt from the virus that the dont need to? The evidence of two positives suggests they're not. Indeed the evidence of the 2nd one shows exactly why it was right they did. Does he think he knows better than Cgris Witty now?

He's ranting about Scotland player behavious three months ago when infection rates were much lower and the new infectious variants which have caused closure of travel altogether didnt exist. People werent banned from leaving their houses at that time. Its not massively relevant Neil and it misses the point. This was never about Celtic's behaviour, it was about the perception of Celtic's self entitlement to swan off warm weather training when most of their fans can barely leave their gardens!

He's a dead man walking and he's brought his departure closer here. Awful lack of awareness.

Really hope he's going to drop the 7 that played against us and Sevco, and just start 11 from those 13 in our game on Wed.

Remember when Celtic fans used to say that the only reason people disliked Lennon was because of his religious beliefs?

That’s the price you pay for having such a large budget which allows you to assemble such a large squad.  If you struggled with small squads like most other teams in the country losing so many players would likely have meant the last two games would have been postponed.

What Lennon can definitely take full responsibility for is the fact the squad, just like the first team, is nowhere near good enough!

I'm glad you agree with my point cheers M8.

They'd only be able to have the game called off if there was evidence they didn't have enough players available. Given that they do have enough players available that seems unlikely.

Well this is quite something.

Absolute madness from Lennon.  Incredibly irresponsible from him and from Celtic in permitting that.  Surely the club would have discussed a party line for when the manager next appeared in front of cameras.

It's got everything this.  Wastecoatwilly has let nobody on here down with his dementedly partisan response.

Lennon's antics are obviously hilarious, but that doesn't make them any less deplorable.

Even for you that is a belter lol. Maybe shouldn't have a massive squad that ensues your always have enough players to fill out a full squad and bench.

Or maybe the squad shouldn't have went on a jolly to Dubai, but who am I to judge?

So it's an advantage to clubs with smaller squads to play with a full squad at a later date.
