COVID-19 In Scottish Football

Cheers - I didn’t know that part of the rule.

Usually it only crops up when a lower league team has a few players away because top flight teams don't play on recognised international dates. Sevco were probably one of the more recent examples as they struggled through the lower leagues.

There is definitely going to be more contention if the 2021 Africa Cup does get played. There are EPL teams that will be losing 4 players for the duration plus whatever time they need to quarantine on arriving back in the UK. I don't think any club will be able to stop players going if they wish but I also don't think there will be sanctions to players who decline to go (coerced or otherwise)

There are also a international dates at the end of January and start of February to finish up WC qualifying in every other confederation outside of UEFA. And I don't expect those to be respected either.

Club owners or majority shareholders would never agree to the cap simplu because a bad season and they actually might be better off giving the OF more seats

Didnt St Johnstone say jan 2020 that giving the OF 3 stands instead of two was potentially worth 6 figures a season extra and the remaining stand was enough space to accommodate their home fans as well

Might be shite for the fans being moved but surely being moved a maximum 4 times a season that financially benefits the club and maybe helps improve the team is going to be more attractive, especially to the club owner

Any self respecting club should be following Steve Clarkes example at Kilmarnock. For that reason, I hope St Johnstone get relegated.

Give the away fans 1 stand and try and use your home advantage. All the advantages are already massively stacked in favour of the 2 Glasgow mobs, without bending over and touching your toes when requested.

The most likely match to effect Scottish football might be Canada's double header in January/February.

I don't think Wotherspoon will be fit but these matches will go a long way to determining if they qualify for the World Cup. So if Scott Arfield got the call he would be picking between the OF game and potentially going to Qatar. Harry Paton at Ross County has been in recent Canada squads too.

And Motherwell might lose Sondre Solholm if he decides to play for Canada.

You've got Rogic and Boyle for Australia and Kyogo for Japan too. Potentially Morelos for Colombia.

EDIT: Wotherspoon is out for the season anyway so he won't be away with Canada.

If this is the shite were gonna hear post xmas then the chance of full crowds back in after the break is getting lower and lower

The English have less restrictions than the rest of the UK, so when it says "Boris to set review rules", it is only going to be within the English context.

Edit: it's also the Daily Mail, so you have to factor in their "fear porn" factor.

I think we'd started to lose money from the home support in OF games, as the home crowd was lower than the amount of season ticket holders we had.

They held a one season experiment to see how it would go and gauge home fans opinions on it.

It's now back to OF just getting 2.5 stands, as has been the case for years.

I'm sure we give you a lower % of our capacity than Dundee, yet for some reason we're always held up as some of OF reliant club.

Truly surprised The Daily Mail hasn't stated Princess Di would've found a cure to Covid had she still been alive.

Dundee are under (I think closer to 4,000 but definitely under) 4,200 out of 11,850 so around 35%.

Does around 1800 behind each goal then half the main stand being another 1500 at McDiarmid sound right? If so you wouldn't be far off around half which would be one of the higher ones if the league.

Sage are the biggest pant wetters ever seen . Have any of their predictions even came close to being anywhere near right

It’s a worst case scenario, not a prediction

Not even the Daily mail are reporting it as a “prediction” although they’ve not gone to any great lengths to stop you making that mistake.

Main stand is only 900 to away fans max
