Billy Jean King 1,993 Report post Posted January 15 Motherwell tears and snotters incoming. While the outcome seems fair you couldn't really blame them for being annoyed at the way the decision was reached. It's been pretty shambolic.

I'm not too fussed about losing the points as we can win them back. More annoyed that they are so scared about setting a precedent in case Celtic's buffoonery causes a postponement of a game.
The Real Saints 4,008 Report post Posted January 15 I very much agree with this decision and I'm glad that everyone has come to their senses.

GAD 2,218 Report post Posted January 15 Imagine being one of the simpering idiots who have been blindly defending the SPFL's handling of this for the last few weeks? How fucking humiliating.
Swello 5,413 Report post Posted January 15 Said on the 'Well thread - I hope we don't get involved with Statements and all that - there has been nothing in this that's been in our control and there is nothing we can realistically do. The final outcome is what I expected in the first place but how we got here is a fucking shambles and ultimately hasn't been good for any of the 4 clubs involved in it - 'Well and Accies have more cause for annoyance on account of not been guilty of anything... Spoiler Hope we take it out on the orcs on Sunday.

Would you also like to send this to the people whose friends and families have died of Coronavirus? Do you even know what you're drooling about? You somehow are missing the point that St Mirren players and staff have been badly affected by Covid, through no fault of their own.

well fan for life 3,018 Report post Posted January 15 I'm not too fussed tbh. It's the sensible outcome and just another example of how pitiful the SPFL's response to Covid has been. Mainly all this was funny because Div was making such a rip-roaring c**t of himself on Twitter.
Steve McQueen 597 Report post Posted January 15 I thought they might have got a points deduction, but giving Motherwell 6 points always seemed bizarre.

The breaches weren't a deliberate attempt to distort a result even if they were to blame for the cases spreading its a process breach not a competitive cheating one. Then there's the goal difference given to teams🤦♂️ imagine a team went down on GD due to a club just being handed 3 "free" goals 🤦♂️🤦♂️ Like many have said. Common sense prevails.

Grangemouth Bairn 3,602 Report post Posted January 15 Common sense prevails but this has been a really poor experience for all 4 clubs. This could have been avoided. Surely Doncaster’s position is untenable now ? If he doesn’t resign he should be sacked for gross negligence.
accies1874 5,080 Report post Posted January 15 Heard from VERY reliable sources that Accies will be taking this to the High Court with the help of a respected lawyer called Leslie Deans. St Mirren won't stand a chance and we'll get the three points back before tomorrow's game. I can't say anymore though.

It's stuff happening to Accies, Motherwell, St Mirren and Killie - no-one gives a f**k enough to put any pressure on Doncaster (and St Mirren and Killie are happy with the outcome anyway). Only where the OF are involved is there any pressure on him.
Busta Nut 3,337 Report post Posted January 15 I don't actually think Motherwell or Hamilton should be getting points for nothing. 10k fines for teams is a bite shite though. Deduct them points at least. -
Yorky 146 Report post Posted January 15 Well the end of a pretty shambolic period, nothing surprises you in Scottish Football. I think the original decision was probably over the top although both clubs need to take a level of responsibility for what happened. Really thought regarding Motherwell we’re responsible for where we find ourselves in the league and it’s our responsibility to get ourselves out of it, not rely on being awarded points for games that were never played. Best thing for us is that we get on with it and concentrate on gaining six points from the two games when they are actually played.
