COVID-19 In Scottish Football

Well it's irrelevant in terms of anyone isolating as a result of it but it's still a potential breach of protocol for which evidence has now emerged.

Without missing the cynical implication in your post, whether any of them actually had Covid or not is not the point in terms of a rule breach. As someone said earlier, it's not ok to speed up and down the motorway at 120mph as long as you didn't actually hit anyone.

Though if, say, entirely hypothetically, a club made sure they had no positive tests, surely that would be the biggest rule breach of the lot? Its a shame that Biton and Edouard got it as soon as they left to go on international duty, and just so lucky they didnt pass it onto anyone else at their club.

It looks like Celtic are taking a "'Mon then" attitude to this.

Quote

A Celtic spokesperson told BBC Scotland: "The photo was taken and published weeks ago and undertaken within all established protocols.

"We will happily discuss this with the Scottish Government, should they wish to do so.

"Celtic's own stringent protocols have ensured that, to date, following thousands of individual tests, we have recorded no positive cases within our squad, with the only cases affecting the club being recorded while our players have been on international duty."

A textbook case of setting things up to play the victim if/when this escalates.

After the judgement on Thursday we’re now -unsurprisingly- at a stage where there’s a witch hunt for evidence of breaches.
And -unsurprisingly- they’re being found. With literal photographic evidence.
Quite a rod the SPFL has made for its own back there.
Looking forward to see how it deals with it.
I suspect it will be brushed under the carpet.

Absolutely. Its delicious.

And we have Thistle fans slagging off Saints on a day Saints fans are disappointed at only drawing with Aberdeen while down in the seaside league the mighty Thistle were drawing at home with eh....Dumbarton !

Still hurting I see. Delicious.

Worth thing about the Celtic team photo is them having the Scottish Cup there IMO.

Trophies should only be shown in team photos if the club had won that trophy the previous season, IMO.

They probably think they own it.

"Saints earn a well deserved point on the pitch this afternoon"

That was an admittedly crap joke about clubs not being able to fulfill a fixture, I humbly suggest that was a whoosh.

Id say its more at those clubs who have been handed points that they totally dont deserve.

if Motherwell make Europe by a point or even a goal it will be tainted.

I am pretty meh about it, we fucked up, we stupidly admitted it so we can't really have any complaints. If any other team gets away with similar transgressions however, then we riot.

It's an odd one in that those who made mistakes have been denied the chance to win points, but through the luck of the fixtures others have benefited massively.

I prefer to look at it as a chance to prevent another bloody Central Defender being suspended for the next game.
