Isn’t the first team squad something ridiculous like 50 players?  If it was training then you have to take the whole squad no?

Another disadvantage of having a big squad. Poor old Celtic, discriminated against again.

Lennon has had 10 days in isolation on the bevvy to reflect on this and he thought this was the best approach?

Like I said I've got no problem with his rant or any other managers this season, the motherwell manager said it was partly to blame for him leaving his job.

Stephen Robinson said Neil Lennon's rant was party to blame for him leaving his job?

Moving the goalposts every month and making the shit up as they go was always on the cards.

Well no. the choice was don't play the season or play the season with protocols in place. As far as I can see no protocols have been changed but penalties for breaking these protocols were getting heavier until Celtic had a major breach.

Here's what your manager said about the situation back in August (before Bolingoli made a c**t of it):

Quote

Celtic boss Neil Lennon says his players have been reminded of their responsibilities after news that eight Aberdeen players breached bubble rules by visiting a pub.

Aberdeen's match against St Johnstone this weekend has been called off after two players tested positive for coronavirus and a further six first team squad members were ordered to self-isolate.

All eight are said to have been at a pub in Aberdeen's city centre after last weekend's defeat to Rangers.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon today said she was "furious" at the incident, and reminded football players and clubs how important the rules are.

Lennon said: "It's obviously a very unfortunate incident and has some serious ramifications for the game.

"It's a reminder to all the players and the staff that we have to be on our guard all of the time and follow the protocols in the right way.

"We made our players aware again this morning. They really can't go out and socialise and open ourselves up to any finger-pointing. It's basically a case of home, training, home, games. Unfortunately that's the way it's got to be until things get better.

"I think the players here have in the main been excellent. They've had two rounds of testing now for the last six or seven weeks and thankfully they've all come back negative. Whatever they are doing, they're doing the right things."

He added: "The country has handled the situation as well as anyone possibly could have. We've opened up a little bit and have to be careful we don't have any more spikes."

Celtic's match against Aberdeen next weekend is expected to go ahead as planned, although the Dons will be without eight players.

Who's the one moving the goal posts here?

I'm not remotely concerned about whether Julien went or not. Like the photos at the poolside I don't see it as a big deal. They either went or they didn't. Their physios and medical people were presumably there too. He said there were about 60 away. I don't think it's unreasonable if they are going partly for training, partly for a team bonding recharge of the batteries, that Julien travels and continues daily treatment on site. It's not important and the fact he's the one who got it is coincidental. It's the same as Lennon's deflection about conga lines, it misses the point. The point was, regardless of whether it was technically allowed or not, it was completely contrary to the cautious message led by the Govt and adopted by the SFA and  (largely) the rest of the country and a horrendous example for anyone. An entirely "we're Celtic, restrictions don't apply to us, we'll do what we want and behave as normal" approach to life. And Lennon can try to take the blame for that if he wants, as he desperately tries to ingratiate himself with his bosses by taking some heat off them, but that's a decision that SHOULD have been taken over his head. When Lennon said, "I want to take the boys away to Dubai again, like usual. It's allowed under the rules", Lawwell should have gently reminded him of the big picture and ruled it out.

Whilst I'm not sure it would have been any different in person, with journalists fawning around desperate to avoid a stadium ban, I do think it will much more difficult to interject on Zoom than in person. It probably added to his out of control rant to be honest. If people in a room had been visually shocked he might have realised more quickly that it was all going wrong. Maybe not though, he was by then in full rant mode. I agree it looked like he was eventually instructed to draw it to an immediate close.

This must have left Celtic in a very difficult position. Their manager going full tonto loose cannon is problematic, particularly effectively publicly saying the National Govt policy on isolation is "ridiculous". It's borderline anti-vaxxer stuff and I'm genuinely surprised he's not already away. They aren't winning this league is a month of Sundays so it's not going to change anything. Surely nobody seriously thinks he's going to be in charge next season? They can't really issue a statement disagreeing with his comments whilst leaving him in charge. He's contradicted much of the "apology" his CEO gave earlier in the week. In any other environment his position is untenable.

I disagree with you on Jullien.

Of course the issue was that they went at all, for all the reasons you suggest.

However, the fact that someone who couldn't train went along, does point to this as something of a 'jolly' rather than an intensive training camp.  Of course it's coincidental that he got infected, but his presence on the trip is harder to justify, even in the warped terms Celtic are attempting to frame things in.

Anyway, it's good to see you expressing views on this ridiculous football breach.  Bit of a contrast with your profile regarding one closer to home.

I hope St Johnstone now give a response to this dressing room rant from Neil Lennon.
Did Celtic use the away dressing room?
Is it smaller than the home one?
Why?
Do the away teams use the Astra turf changing rooms?
How do our changing rooms compare to the other 11 clubs?

We probably won't .

The normal away dressing room is is tiny, I remember we were allocated it in a BB cup final in 1990 and its about 1/3 of the size of the home one.

Why to give the home side an advantage , teams do that all over the place. Also probably built for 2 subs not 5 , 7 or how ever many we have now plus all the add on's of sports scientists etc we have on the bench now.

yes all teams use the 4 Astro turf changing rooms so I think in his rage yesterday he's thought I need to defect onto other teams and possibly remembered how small our room is in the past and he's said what he said.

With the money spent to take Julien to Dubai I'm relatively certain they could have used that money to organise a fully qualified and respected physio to give him assistance for the week they were away.

Sorry 21 point gaps don't lie.

EVERYONE at Celtic has underperformed in what was described as one of the most monumental in their history.  How can you not be judged on that massive failure ?

I'm unsure if you are trolling or you genuinely believe that. It's hard to tell given your previous comments.
