I noticed that lawell says that the 'outcome' of the trip is regrettable,

Just the outcome, aye?

And he's only apologising to Celtic fans. Not the rest of Scottish football or, you know, THE ENTIRE POPULATION that is raging with them.

Any idea what the timeline looks like for Killie and St Mirren's appeal?

Want to know when it's time for me to log on and enjoy some west of Scotland tears and snotters.

BBC report said the hearing would convene at 6pm tonight and might continue on into next week. And the good thing is, you'll get west of Scotland tears and snotters whatever the outcome.

Yup, Killie and Saints, or Well and Accies.

A win win for the Wicked East!

If St Mirren and Killie lose today’s appeal, the biggest loser is Ross County who will be marooned, so to speak. That cannot be right

The only reasonable outcome is to have no relegations this year and, subsequently, no promotions from the Championship.

This is true.

I do recall him getting booed onto the field when raising the title flag one year. Why was that? Because of a demand for more "ambitious" signings from the fans? Is it only in hindsight CFC fans appreciated what he did for you?

In part yes, Fergus wasn’t motivated by stopping Rangers win 10 in a row it wasn’t the priority, building the stadium and not spending beyond our means was. Don’t get me wrong we signed some cracking players Di Canio, Cadete, PvH, Larsson during his time but many left because he wouldn’t cave to salary demands.

Sadly it took the collapse of Rangers in 2012 for his approach to be vindicated and for the penny to finally drop with the fans who didn’t like him.

A very clever and shrewd man, had the opportunity to meet him once at a wedding inside the No7 suite at Celtic Park a few years back. He was pretty witty but carried an aura that he wasn’t to be fucked with, even after he retired

What's the problem with what he said? There is an SPFL rule which requires clubs to provide adequate pitch protection, and if they have failed to do so then they have broken the SPFL rules and a fixture has not been played as a result.

There is but again, you know it isn't going to happen.

The sensible thing to have done would've been bringing the game forward when their was an amber alert announced.

Yep St Johnstone and County would be the biggest losers because of St Mirren and Killie breaching the COVID rules. Madness.

That is as maybe but we have been dicked about as much as any one at the moment. No one seem to acknowledge that at all. The shambolic SPFL taking the points back and announcing it the morning of a game. You could not make that up.

If the games were ordered to be replayed originally no Well fans nor the club would have probably cared much. Just got on with it. We were in a much better state back then and had just won 2 league games back to back iirc.

We could end up playing St Mirren with Brophy scoring a winning goal when he was not even part of the squad back then. Is that sporting integrity?

Regardless the outcome it has dragged on for far too long and you will be left with 2 teams unhappy with whichever outcome ! Well don SPFL....

I'm sure the same thing happened to us with Celtic after the Bolingoli incident.  Game postponed- they sign players, which in the rearranged game played.

They were required to remove the sanction as soon as the SFA notified them about receiving the appeal and set a date for the appelate panel to meet.

I accept that but our game was on Boxing Day ! Was anyone working ? Was the appeal not lodged before this date ?

They could easily have waited until the Monday to take the points back. Robinson was rightly pissed off at the timing.

With that logic.... i demand Robinson is brought back for both games as he should have been in charge of the original fixtures

Under rule 14.4, the clubs have a right to appeal to the SFA, given that they have exhausted all rights of appeal the SPFL (there were none in this case). Normally, the punishment would be suspended immediately under SFA rule 14.12, but rule 14.13 allows the SPFL to oppose the suspension of the penalty.

In the case where the SPFL oppose the suspension of the penalty, it then has to be heard by what is known as a "Suspension Tribunal", which is a single legally qualified person who determines whether the punishment should be suspended pending appeal. The announcement on the SFA website on Boxing Day said that it was the decision of a Suspension Tribunal, which implies that the SPFL did try to block the suspension of the penalty.

The appeal was lodged by the clubs on or around 9th December. Depending on when the SFA then notified the SPFL of this appeal, the SPFL would have then had one working day to lodge their opposition to the suspension of the penalty. After that, the SFA would have to appoint the Suspension Tribunal, at which point they have five working days to make a determination.

The timeline therefore roughly matches up to the decision being made on the 23rd/24th December, but then probably not being announced or actioned until Boxing Day because that would have been the first time that the SPFL and/or SFA would have had people working again.
