No, Dubai has (as of now) been defined as a high risk area.  Anyone coming from Dubai as of tomorrow morning must isolate for 10 days.

Actually read the statement instead of just regurgitating incorrect nonsense.

...and anyone who arrived in Scotland from Dubai since 3rd January has to now isolate for 10 days from the arrival date.

But genuinely what about the fact that anyone that has returned since 3rd January has to isolate?

Scottish Govt spokesperson: No decision yet on whether Celtic in clear under ‘elite sports’ qualification. Celtic being spoken to by officials from Scot Govt & NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde. Info will be fed back to Ministers who will make decision-possibly lunchtime tmrw @SkyNews

This would give the SPFL the same absolutely nonsensical get out which they used for Celtic and Aberdeen earlier in the season, that it was a Scottish government decision to postpone the game rather than Celtic being unable to fulfil the fixture.

Which is where the elite sports rule kicks in. It's all being reviewed apparently with a statement lunch time tomorrow.

The "elite sports rule" would apply whether you were there before or after the 3rd January, so your previous posts on the topic are still wrong.

I'm an F1 fan and most countries forced the teams to isolate in line with local restrictions.

This however is of course Scottish football and then without being political you have Nicola's gaffes regarding Alex and then the whole restaurant thing too. She will be keen to make an example of this i'd imagine.

Canny see it They will get a slap on the wrist She has a election in May so she will not want to upset to many Celtic supporters

I think Kilmarnock should show some leadership and withdraw their appeal to make it clear what sort of punishment should be handed out.

Wrong!

Anyone who has arrived in Scotland from Dubai and arrived in from the 3rd of January ALSO must isolate for 10 days from the day they arrived.

its quite clearly spelt out in the released statement.

Yeah but Sellick are going to get en exemption under the "Elite Sport" regs even though it wasn't an elite competition they were playing but a jolly boys outing.

Covid and the SPFL Series 1 : Hearts

Covid and the SPFL Series 2 : Celtic in Dubai

And just like Hearts, if Celtic are somehow punished tomorrow, just wait for the inevitable pivot from the Celtic fans' pre-punishment stance of "we deserve everything we get" to their post-punishment conclusion of "how dare they make us accountable for our own stupid actions, masonic conspiracy!!! 🍀"

What I have been trying to explain! They see it as an Elite Sport event. Government will decide if it was or not by tomorrow. 'Elite Sport' is the get out clause not any particular date (if it is classed as Elite)

That's a completely separate issue.

All arrivals from Dubai must isolate for 10 days from Monday. All arrivals that arrived in Scotland from 3rd January must isolate for 10 days from arrival date.

The "elite sport" is irrelevant when looking at your previous posts, although I will concede it may just have been how you were putting that point over, it read that you were not seeing the "3rd January" details.

There is discussions as you correctly stated regarding the fact that Celtic's trip may not be covered by the Elite Sporting rule with regards the isolation due.

Should also mention that some folk are saying that it takes 7 days to show a positive test so therefore it cannot have been the Dubai trip. That's not true. These players are tested very regularly so therefore it is more likely that their infection would be picked up quicker than you or I. Also from a personal point of view my partner, a nurse, unknown to the ward had a positive patient admitted to her non COVID ward. She dealt with the patient from the Saturday. By Tuesday symptoms had started and confirmed by test next day.

They need to get punished for it, A cold weather training camp is not an elite Sporting event. The exemption was put in place to allow teams to travel for European competition not to go on a jaunt because you cant deal with the Scottish weather and you want to top up your tan.
