The teams involved could have played the games they're behind with in plenty midweeks (this midweek being one). And isn't this hugely inconsistent with the Aberdeen and Celtic situation earlier in the season? Also Dundee Utd have dropped a place in the league (Kilmarnock have too, but I suppose that's linked to their 'punishment'). Replicate this come the end of May (or even in early April at the split), and league placings could well end up being decided in this way. Farcical. Correct. Both teams have already had breaches - Celtic to the extent that a couple of games were postponed. Both teams will no doubt have breaches again in the future. There's no need to make it about them though. They've set a dangerous precedent today as this almost certainly will happen again. The SPFL then goes on to say that these breaches "factually" led to COVID outbreaks at both clubs, which is an almost impossible thing to prove.
