COVID-19 In Scottish Football

Recommended Posts

If we're still in the same boat come December, the SFA should genuinely think about moving the Scottish Cup final to Inverness, Dingwall or Elgin and letting the good people of those towns attend the game.

Celtic and Aberdeen are probably among the top three most popular teams in all of those towns, so it's not an outrageous suggestion. Hearts and Hibs have plenty of fans up here as well.

I would love to see the golf correspondent's reaction to the final being hosted at Borough Briggs.

My initial hope that Saints would be allowed fans back soon due to the new tier system & the fact theres relatively low cases in Perth.... well and truely dashed by the fact it seems if Dundee has a problem Perth & Kinross is just being treated as the one and same place even though Perth is 60 fucking miles away.

Perth is a suburb of Dundee so the goverment is right not to let fans in. How many people of the Dundee suburb Perth work in Dundee. Quite a few there lies your problem .

The City of Perth is a Central Belt exclave. It's only right that it's subject to the same restrictions as the rest of the Central Belt like Edinburgh, Dundee and Fife.

Rural Perthshire, on the other hand, is de jure Highland territory, and will be a proud part of an independent Highland nation one day. The likes of Dunkeld, Pitlochry etc should see less restrictions.

Well this has proven to be wrong within 10 minutes. Given Perth and Kinross is being treated as separate from Dundee and the Central Belt and is indeed a whole Tier level below.

Not that I think it makes any difference, but the chances of fans back in Perth are significantly greater than Dundee right this minute.

I dont think that anyone has much of a chance of anything other than a couple hundred for test events right at the moment - even those in the highlands - its just deemed too risky.

No other club would have spent the money hearts did taking the league to court.

They would if they had it. St Mirren seem to be willing to pay to challenge an SPFL decision and they, unlike us, do seem to have broken some rules.

Of course we could have done what your team did and make the fans pay.

When the SPFL were warned by the government after the Aberdeen and Celtic incidents, the correct thing to do would have been to send inspectors to every club to check their safety measures, then this could have been avoided.

Instead they banned Hearts from training for a week.

Hearts aren't elite and therefore weren't allowed to train at the time.  Much like Alloa and Arbroath.

True.
It’s just that nobody likes Hearts and, one way or another, you won’t be getting promoted at the end of this season.
