Rangers vs St Johnstone - August 12th

Recommended Posts

Barisic showing how important to the team he is. 2 moments of real quality the only difference between the teams.

Impressed with St Johnstone, making it very frustrating as a Rangers fan to watch this.

Lack of fitness has caused that second, think we were all expecting that issue though.

Entirely this. It’s annoyingly as if we were half a yard sharper we’d be causing Rangers issues. It’s refreshing to see we’re actually trying to play the ball around and keep hold of it in tight situations. Can’t help but think O’Halloran would have had joy in this game with the space in behind Barasic, which Conway hasn’t quite exploited yet.

Bit harsh. Not conceded an awful lot of chances but think maybe relaxed a bit thinking half times coming.

Been good but really missing attacking options. Having May or O'Halloran would have made a big difference here I feel. Not been seen enough in attacking sense since the first goal

McNamara tucked in and Conway made no attempt to get back. His run obviously knackered him.

Looked a bit shaky to start with StJ getting stuck in, managing to stop us getting a rhythm going and defending in numbers. Barisic showing his class with a great goal and creating a great goal for Kent.

StJ look a level above St boo who basically stayed put in their own half.

Jack misplaces pass, hits ref.

Free kick Rangers.

Hagi chips ball away then jumps holding shin when nobody touches him.

Free kick and yellow.

Braw.

It’s this law where if the ball hits the referee, it’s an uncontested drop ball to the team whoever touched it last. Not great but it’s the rules.

Yellow for McCart was definitely harsh. You could tell Thomson in commentary wasn’t impressed.

McNamara hasn't been as impressive to my eye as the United game.

Quite clear from that first half that game time and injuries are hurting us. Spoony really should know better by now. Can't argue with the free kick but thought that the second was poor by us, seemed like we were looking for the whistle and switched off.

Conway has made some poor decisions, some players look a bit spooked on the ball.

Will be instructive to see if Callum does now.

Tbf im not sure why McNamara tucked in, his role in this set up is to prevent Barisic having that amount of space.

Will need to see it again to see why he's that central.

Hate Rangers* and everything they stand for. Their fans are absolute vermin and I hope the club dies again. But quite impressed with the Rangers TV output. Clive done his homework and Kevin Thomson is ok. Just get McCann, Rae and Tanner to f**k and it’d be a decent line up.

You started off so well...

Aye, despite the scoreline its been pretty positive.

Can see the idea and why the manager wants to play that way. Only worry is we don't create much, but youre judging that on the first game of the season with MOH having a stinker, then an away game at Ibrox.
