Dennis Smith
IF teams get told to have more space in the changing roms why not give both changing rooms to the AWAY team. and the HOME player go down in kit andgo back after game. Or if the bar not get an O.k. to be open the HOME team use it and the comittee room and put on track suits after game and go home for shower Or the AWAY team go down in strip and track suits and only go in the changeing rooms after game. Our players would be O.k. with that if got them back playing. short wait then O.k. do it. long wait got to start thinking how to get games on and not just waitin and hoping be O.k. for 2021/2022.

glensmad
There's no point in asking questions like that, as the current Scottish Government indicative dates say that stadia can re-open in mid September and outdoor live events can start in a couple of weeks.

Relates to the top of the tier though as they're the only ones that will be playing on that date and the way the pundits were talking on Sportsound on Saturday, they were doubting any possibility of fans any time soon. It's their opinion and no more than that... but I would say the non-league clubs aren't to the forefront of thought with the SG just now and if we cannot make our dressing rooms safe for players (which the full timers can) then talk of fans is highly premature. Mentioned up the thread and relevant, it's not what an individual club can do, it's what a significant number can do to get the leagues up and running. Just on Lobbey's point, I was at a Lanarkshire gound a decade or so back and dressing rooms were so crowded, one of our players was stark bollock naked in the corridor outside the changing room, bit of an eyeful for any of the ladies present! Agree completely There is more chance of getting fans in than dressing rooms meeting the guidelines for players The guidelines at the moment are no more than 5 different households indoors even if they change that to 10 anytime soon how do clubs meet these guidelines??? Genuine question… … … surely the clubs know this, so does anyone know what their club is proposing to put in place to accommodate this. Because it they are not we ain’t going to be playing anytime soon

Said so by NS repeatedly today in her press conference. Edited August 10, 2020 by cmontheloknow

I stand corrected … … 5 may be Wales or Engeerland so many different rules easy to get confused Dressing rooms are going to be a big problem in our grade and one that will need to be addressed before we have any chance of playing again Most have the players sardined in on top of each other with no room to swing a cat
spit
Players turn up in their kit,or change in their cars. They then go home to shower, taking their kit with them. Sure the referee and linesmen can sort themselves out as well. Fans are the 2m apart all around the ground, be sensible please ! Would you wear a mask to the game ? No need to use cramped changing rooms. Away clubs may have to hire a bigger bus to keep socially distanced, easy enough. Catering ? sure that can be worked out safely. If season starts in October, why can't you play midweek games straight away ?So greenock down at kello, an hour and a half drive, pishing wet day, pitch is a bog, then drive back to greenock unwashed, then the following week you turn up and realise, oh shit Ave left ma shirt at home today, sorry coach no kit a can't play,

Think some folks are clutching at straws in desperation. We all want to see football but without facilities open and no limit on crowds it's a non starter.

Not this yr not next yr.Correct. People need to get a reality check, there are going to be restrictions in every walk of life, and football is no different. If you can't accept football like that, then you'll just have to do without it altogether.

The key word is indicative dates. Do you genuinely believe people will be able to go to a gig this time next month? We can move into Phase 4 but still not tick off all of the boxes in Phase 4 right away. We moved into Phase 3 but it was still weeks after that until they opened a beer garden.
cmontheloknow
Forgetting the muppets from the football club, the outbreak in Aberdeen itself has put further reopening up of society on the back burner and now schools reopening safely becomes priority. If there had not been a summer resurgence in our 3rd biggest city, I'd be far more optimistic. They have had 10% of all their covid cases this past week or so. "...to travel hopefully is a better thing than to arrive." If we already knew 20-21 was a write off, that the SPFL top flight will be lucky to finish the season without disruption - even Doncaster has admitted that as a possibility, that we could be back in lockdown before the clocks change... how dismal and depressing would that be? It makes sense to keep the carrot dangling to keep us moving forward, trying to be covid compliant. All that work will be needed one day - just perhaps not this side of the bells.
