Chelsea will at least make a competitive final of it whereas Real Madrid would have been pumped.

The much-hated Super League idea is not going anywhere while a Gulf state and an oligarch's plaything who used their cashflow to blow everyone out of the market during the pandemic are contesting the final though.

The commentary is bad enough when it's two english teams but the bias when it's an english team playing one of those dirty foreign clubs its actually insufferable.

Can understand Hoddle and "Fletch", but you'd have thought McManaman, being a bit of a cult hero at the Bernabeu, would be wanting them to win. But he's absolutely gagging for a Chelsea win. Strange man.

Owen before the game was at it too. Implying RM were experienced and would try to cheat/con the ref.  You’d think he’d be a bit more impartial given he used to play for RM.

That's an utter bin fire of a final set up. The Abu Dhabi state versus the original billionaire's bitch project. Hideous.

You say this as if the alternative (PSG v Madrid) is in anyway different.

Top level European football is fucked. The same couple of teams will just recycle the Champions League between themselves until the end of time.

It isn't. I just fucking hate those clubs more than I hate PSG and Madrid.

Chelsea are so fuckin boring and Tuchel is clearly an arsehole.

As for Gilmour I think his future might be better elsewhere. He is a footballer and all finesse and class, they don't want that from their two midfielders. They want people who can do the hard yards and the dirty work and run and press and cover and dominate physically. Powerful players with legs protecting the defence and pressing.

That just isn't his game, he's more of a footballer. Maybe he'd be better elsewhere at a team that would suit him better.

There’s potential for another Aguueerro!! magic moment and fairytale ending to his time at Man City here.

Wouldn’t begrudge Aguero that but I dislike Man City and Pep more than I dislike Chelsea.

Going to feel so wrong wanting Chelsea to win it.

Great idea then to have twice as many English teams in it than from any other country.

The likes of Barca and Real know they are being blown out the park by the EPL financially. The ESL was a desperate attempt by them and the Italians to be able to compete with the English clubs long term, and it failed miserably. As a result I think all English finals are going to be the norm rather than the exception for the foreseeable future, sadly.

The richest football clubs in the world are 1- Real Madrid, 2- Barcelona, 3- Bayern Munich.

They generate more revenue than any other clubs, and therefore have bigger budgets. The problem the first two have is they have been overspending for a long time, not the amount of money they make, the amount they spend.

No EPL club has ever spent over 85m on one player. Barca have done it on about 5, Real just paid 150 for Hazard.  Barca have been paying Messi 2 million a week the last couple of years, that's quadruple the EPL's best paid player.

Its not about what they make, they make more than any EPL clubs as they are the biggest clubs in the world, its about what they spend.

Paul Pogba to Manchester United.

Aye that's his transfer. Record for EPL. Barca are paying 147 for Coutinho, 135 for Dembele, 120 for Griezmann.

Those three clubs generate more money than any other club. The problem two of them have is they spend more too and haven't spent it very well.

What they're really worried about apart from debt is PSG and City effectively having limitless money being backed by a state, FFP getting binned so the sky is the limit for them potentially.

So the problem these clubs have isn't the amount of money they make, its the amount they spend and how they've spent it. They are also concerned about PSG and City who have almost limitless funds if FFP is abandoned which it seems it will be.
