Ur a smart arse nothing wrong with the park at parkview u should give the guys up there a hand to fixed it before nov then since u seen to think it’s a shite park

Today will be the 4th consecutive week that they’ve played a game on the park. It was looking a bit heavy at one end after last week’s game against the Dale. Today it’s Pumphy at home.

I can only read this sentence in a heavy Jamaican Bunny Wailer-esque accent. Weird huh?

Was fortunate enough to watch the games from behind the fence the last few weeks. Thoroughly enjoyed watching them, and you’re guaranteed goals going forward with Fauldhouse. It’s a crying shame fans can’t get in, as there’s absolutely no reason why football at this level can’t work without fans. It’s going to kill the game, the way things are going.

Nothing I can find on their social media, which isn't a good sign on it only being a temporary abeyance sort of thing. Lockdown changes make no difference at this point as professional football has an exemption at all levels and West Lothian was already too high for spectators to be allowed.

Is there hope yet of financial help from the UK Government via the SP?

From the BBC web site:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/54998979

Interesting to read that the UK Government has allocated  "a rescue package of £300m of emergency funding for sports impacted by the absence of spectators because of coronavirus."

A breakdown of funding distribution (preliminary figures):

Note: The final amount received by each sport/organisation may differ from the amounts set out when final decisions are made by an independent decision-making board, and supported by Sport England.

Football: £28m - National League (steps 1-2): £11m; National League (steps 3-6): £14m; Women's Football (Women's Super League and FA Women's Championship): £3m

Scottish government seeks clarity on UK emergency sports funding

The Scottish government is seeking "urgent clarification" from its UK counterpart about the amount of funding available for sports.

The UK government is to provide £300m of loans and grants for sports in England impacted by the absence of fans because of Covid-19.

That money will mean an increase in cash for the devolved governments, who decide how to spend it.

The Scottish government welcomed the announcement, but want more detail.

"This has been an enormously challenging time for the sport sector and we appreciate the sacrifices made by supporters, clubs and authorities over the past months to help us tackle the virus," a spokesperson said.

"We welcome the announcement of a UK government support scheme for sports impacted by the loss of spectators during the pandemic, and will seek urgent clarification on the Barnett consequential funding as a result in order to support the sector in Scotland."

The funding in England extends to rugby union and rugby league, as well as horse racing, women's football, motorsport, tennis, netball, basketball, ice hockey, badminton and greyhound racing.

Men's football above non-league level is not on the list, but it would be for the Scottish government to decide how to allocate the extra cash in Scotland.

The government added it "will continue to work with the [sport] sector to ensure their long-term sustainability".

They said: "Sport brings enjoyment to the many people who watch and play, and we don't want supporters to be delayed in returning to stadiums for any longer than is absolutely necessary."

Following on from the announcement of funding support for semi-pro clubs in England today it has been announced that £750,000 of National Lottery funds is going to the 44 clubs in the Welsh Cymru League.

“The financial package – established by the FAW and The National Lottery and facilitated by the UK Government – will see clubs in the JD Cymru Premier, JD Cymru North and the JD Cymru South receive funding while matches continue to be played behind closed doors, owing to the current COVID-19 restrictions. “

“Nigel Railton, Chief Executive of National Lottery operator Camelot, said, “The National Lottery and its players have been making a massive difference to communities across the UK for the past 26 years, so we’re thrilled to be able to partner with the Football Association of Wales to provide vital funding for these incredibly important clubs in the Cymru Leagues. As a huge football fan myself, I know what this will mean to fans of these community clubs, and I’m sure they’ll be pleased to hear that their clubs are getting the support they need.”

The partnership follows a similar National Lottery initiative between the FA and National League in England, which was facilitated by the UK government. Work continues on partnerships with the Scottish and Northern Ireland FAs.

One of the problems with starting your season in November...

I was going to say perks of playing on a plastic pitch, but they're down as playing at the Grangemouth Stadium. Which I think might be grass.

Rest of their games are down as Westfield Park. Which seems strange that hasn't been cleared up yet.

Lochee United 2 Kirriemuir Thistle 1

Lochee United came out on top in a tough opening game at Thomson Park against visitors Kirrrie Thistle.

Two goals by George Johnston gave the home side a comfortable lead until Kirrie grabbed a late goal to put the result in doubt right up until the end.

After an even opening spell Kevin Milne was brought down inside the Kirrie box and a penalty awarded. Logan Davie saw his spot kick palmed away by Daryl Burns but, in the scramble to get to the loose ball JOHNSTON got there first to bundle the ball home on 14 minutes.

Just as in the first half, Burns was beaten in the 14thminute when Grant Lawson, who had been fed by Buchan, sent in a cross which was met on the volley by JOHNSTON.

With 15 minutes to go Stephen McNally was harshly punished for a robust challenge and the Angus side were awarded a free kick. Up stepped Ryan WINTER to give Gorton no chance from 25 yards.

The Bluebells just shaded the game but Kirrie never gave up and made things as awkward as possible for the home side.

Lochee United: Gorton, McNally, Ballantyne, Millar, Kirk, Davie (McConville 76), Ritchie, Gallacher, Lawson (Cavanagh 68), Johnston, Milne (Buchan 38).

Kirriemuir Thistle: Burns, Kadela, H Barclay, Grant, George, Russell, Fairweather, Cormack, Dale Reid, Winter, Crosbie (Duncan Reid 87).
