Think the Aberdeen players who initially forced this match to be called off may still miss the rearranged date based on the JRG announcement this afternoon. Lewis Ferguson to start up front?

As far as I can see the return to training rules don't apply to the Premiership (although amusingly Hearts have specifically been told to stop training, sound like some sort of conspiracy to me). There is another update due on the day of the fixture.

Others have noted that the impacted players would only return to training the day before the match.

That’s way that I’ve read it as well. They could all get a three game ban, or more, with Cosgrove and Devlin’s kicking in once they’re fit. The only problem with that is that it’s not going to affect Celtic at all, as Bolingoli won’t play again because he’s not worth anything and he’s shite.

I'm reading this ... is there more?

Might just be the drink but I can't see anything about bans?

ETA never mind, I guess you mean the 'more coming tomorrow' stuff.

The JRG say that existing rules will be amended to include sanctions against players, with no mention of clubs. That has mean fines, unlikely, or suspensions and community service, much more likely.

STV now reporting that the clubs themselves, in this case Aberdeen and Celtic, will be punished as well.

Obviously I could be wrong, but I doubt that. On the other hand, Aberdeen will definitely be punished by having six fit players suspended for any matches, whereas Celtic would receive no punishment by having Bolingoli suspended.

No idea on the range of punishments available, would think anything from fines to points deductions?

Come on Joey, surely you understand what's at stake, this season of all seasons?

I’ve just read the STV story and they have gone for an over dramatic headline. They say themselves within the story that new SPFL rules allows for clubs to be punished where they do not follow the rules put in place for clubs, testing, social distancing cleaning etc. Neither Aberdeen nor Celtic have broken any rules. It’ll be the players who are punished.
