St. Johnstone v Aberdeen (The Massey-Ferguson Main Event)

Recommended Posts

I said if everyone followed protocols it would be impossible.
I clearly didn't expect a bunch of players to spend all night crammed into a pub.

Anyone on any given day could catch this through no fault of their own, so it's clearly not impossible. Maybe their partner would pick it up at work, maybe their kids would get it at school or out playing with their pals, maybe the Tesco delivery guy could pass it on to them.

Anyway, you have absolutely no idea what the protocols are or whether a player has breached them, I've no idea why you're claiming you do. The only "evidence" of this is an email (probably genuine but we don't know) saying that someone thinks it's likely they breached the protocol. A lot of people think a lot of things that turn out not to be true.

Clowns seem to think the SPFL is operating the equivalent of the NBA Bubble at Disneyworld

They're told to request to be tested before training if they've "put themselves at high risk/those around them have put themselves at high risk", by doing things like spending a night in a pub crammed with folk who aren't social distancing or wearing face masks.

This clearly hasn't happened and its only come up when the standard testing has been done.

Theres apparently pictures now going about showing Aberdeen players in the Soul bar on Saturday.

Games off. Aberdeen have been told not to train for 2 weeks so there will be further postponements. Statement incoming.

Pity if true, but not surprising given how cautious the government in Scotland have been in us exiting lockdown and in curbing new cases.

I don't see why they would want to make an exception for football when they're limiting the movements of everyone else in the Aberdeen area, could be quite negative publicity.

Clowns seem to think players should have enough sense to not cram into a pub thats operating zero social distancing.

This is a completely avoidable outbreak. Talking about hypotheticals is utterly pointless, as we're not discussing hypotheticals, this seems like a clear factual case of players breaching social distancing rules and catching the virus.

Does the part about the pub not go in quotation marks there because it isn't defined anywhere at all, by any chance?

The latest demand from the Mrs Lovejoy types is that every Dons player should be sacked, the club ejected from the league immediately, and for good measure everyone in Aberdeen who was out for a drink at the weekend to be suspended on no pay from their work for two weeks.

So what’s your problem with this? I get it, two weeks isn’t long enough.

You do this quite often but once again you are speaking in absolute terms about something which cannot be absolute.

You don't know how these players contracted the virus. You cannot say it is "completely avoidable".

Where does it say that they cannot go to the pub? And how do you know this was where they contracted it?

"Seems like a clear factual case" hahahahahahaha

Regarding travel, there's no "exception for football". You can travel in or out of Aberdeen for work. Professional footballer is a job.

Are you away to claim that spending all night in a non-socially distanced pub with strangers, strangers who you cannot guarantee are virus free, is not "high risk"?

Have you considered a player could have been stupid enough to have attended a crowded bar but that's not actually where they caught the virus?

Theres literally people been talking about them being at the pub since Saturday night.

Theres also apparently photos/videos showing them there over snapchat etc.

Aye.
Could be 3-5 day it seems before you can test positive, and you're contagious before that.
14 days. Current UK guidance is if you have been in contact (various definitions but imagine most the team will fall into at least one category) with a positive case you need to self isolate for 14 days or until such a time that you develop symptoms where you reset the clock for a further 10 days self isolation

What difference does that make?

They shouldn't have stayed at a pub that wasn't socially distancing regardless.

The problem isn’t that they caught it or where they caught it but to justify the capital punishment you seek it will need to be proven beyond reasonable doubt.

You're right.  I was being lazy and meaning the restrictions on the population of the area in general, combined with the rules on self-isolating if you've been in contact with someone who's tested positive.

Where in these "protocols" you keep talking about does it define "high risk"? Please tell me so I can become an expert.

Well you've claimed they've obviously caught it there despite it not being confirmed which players were at the bar and if they are one of the infected.
