St. Johnstone v Aberdeen (The Massey-Ferguson Main Event)

No doubt this will come back and bite us in the arse in a few months time. The game will be rearranged for a time when we have 4 or 5 important players out injured or something.

This must be pressure from the government surely.  Considering how risk averse they are and their erratic risk management plan I was amazed permission was initially given.

Would imagine the authorities haven't convinced the government that the risk has been mitigated.

Either that or more positive cases. Either way, good work lads. Hope you enjoyed your night oot at fucking Soul.

Even more reason the players shouldn't be defended for being in that fucking pub.

Few pints lads. Games called off and could result in Aberdeen's next 2 games being off.

If there's another few clubs with positives test over the winter we could end up with 10+ games needing rearranged.

Be interesting to find out whats changed between last night and this morning.

I'd guess they've had their collective baws toed by the SG and it's been pointed out that the optics will be terrible if the game goes ahead and a St Johnstone player ends up testing positive off the back of it.

They'll probably have to re-test and then re-test again to check there aren't more positive cases in the squad.

Aye.

We're now likely to have games wedged into a a short period of time through no fault of our own, will simultaneously hindered by going to Ibrox next week having played one competitive game.

Don't see why Aberdeen should escape punishment here, its pure negligence on the part of their players.

Interesting.

Will there be action taken against Aberdeen? Can't really be having players all going out, getting covid and then nothing?

I cant see the authorities taking action against the club unless it is specifically stated in the rules. They won't want to go down the route of punishing clubs for what players do in their time off.

I think they need to award a 3-0 to St Johnstone (and presumably Accies and Celtic). If they just let Aberdeen rearrange games to whenever, that sets a dangerous precedent. Players will think it doesn't matter if they have to self-isolate, the game(s) will just be off and played later.
