Sportscene watch

Steven Thompson: “Dundee United only had 3 shots, none of them on target”

Cut to clip of United player blazing a shot high & wide from an improbable angle

Richard Foster: “I mean does THAT count as a shot on target???”

No, Richard. As your colleague just made very clear, it does not.

30 minute programme tonight, 15 minutes of highlights. Probably 5 minutes of analysis, 9 minutes of Rangers buildup for tomorrow's game, 1 minute for Hearts

Watching sportscene with a stopwatch.

Even before Archie McPherson became an irrelevant old goat, he was terrible at his job.

Forgive me for repeating myself, but...

Slightly O/T, but always worth repeating.

The constant attempt by the media to brand Archie MacPherson as the doyen of Scottish football broadcasters is utterly ridiculous. The guy is, and has always been, a dreadful, blowhard c**t.

Keep Amy Irons on the telly please bbc even if it's talking to a thick c**t like Ian Black.

Amy Irons is a good broadcaster, and gets better every time.

She and Eilidh Barbour are to Jane Lewis as Richard Gordon is to Pat Bonner.

Completely agree.  Charismatic, knowledgeable and as you say improving all the time.

I know he used to be a teammate, but having Andy Halliday on bigging up the opposition captain.

Yeah. Saw this on the BBC News last night, asking him about being a Rangers fan, an ex-player etc. It pisses me off when they do that with a 3rd division player ahead of playing the Old Firm in a cup match, but to do it with a guy at ostensibly Scotland’s 3rd biggest club ahead of the Cup final is just a total fucking minter.

Is it any wonder that they rolled over and got their belly tickled?
