If the EPL had three comparable games on, say the below, the Liverpool game would most likely be shown first. Liverpool 1 - 0 West Ham Brighton 1 - 2 Sheffield United Southampton 2 - 1 Aston Villa Especially in mid week games where they have less time to put the show together, I would imagine they picked one game (the Rangers game) to focus more on with less analysis of the other two games. That decision would likely be taken before the games kicked off so they would have no idea which game would be the most entertaining. If Crystal Palace v Brighton ends 4-3 and Liverpool v Burnley finishes 1-0 then they'll have the Palace game on first. Because they’re promoting the league as a whole, not 2 clubs at everyone else’s expense. They frequently describe games like as “not a great advertisement for the league”. When was the last time the Scottish media said that about a Rangers vs Celtic match no matter how bad it was? Ultimately a big part of the Scottish issue is that our fanbases are less evenly distributed than in England. You would expect a coach with the best national team in the world to know his stuff and it makes you wonder why they don't try to use more top level coaches rather than retired or ageing footballers (and Neil McCann). Match of the Day 2 showed the Liverpool v Man Utd game last because it was a shite game and the other games were better. If the old firm finished 0-0 and Aberdeen drew 4-4 with Dundee Utd they would still show the Old Firm game first.
