The poster of the info below posted about Brechin City's moves to get the Club 42 boundary rule changed long before it was common knowledge, so he probably knows what he is talking about.

The information that I have indicates that the SPFL clubs will not agree to automatic relegation until the Lowland League is closer to comprising the 16 strongest clubs available to it. That puts the onus of the Lowland League to strengthen from below.

Sounds like a wonderfully pathetic excuse to delay the inevitable by a decade.

Yes, the SPFL clubs are well known for their unanimity. Not to mention their predictability over a ten-year period., and their willingness to divulge their strategic intentions to an anonymous internet poster.

Still, it's headed  "facts-not-speculation", so it must be true.

This just doesn't sound right. Is the SPFL really suggesting that  SPFL2 is made up of the 10 strongest clubs in the Pyramid below SPFL1 ? Whether the SPFL like it or not they are at the head of the Pyramid and should stand by that responsibility to set the example for others to follow.

This poster on NLM is generally accurate.

Maybe there is a united front for the SPFL but is what they have decided being quoted accurately? i.e. has the NLM poster been fed accurate info? In any case let's see the official record posted in the media.

Unless you're dealing with official statements or results of a vote, everything on social media is tainted by personal opinion & only a part of the story.

.... so let's see the official statements. SPFL should be able to do that without bother.

On the basic point on "The SPFL won't change the SPFL Play-off until the LL has the strongest teams" It's a bit of a non-story. As we've seen with the talks over expanding SPFL2, the SPFL won't entertain a change even with it being a 16 team league and the play-off becoming Tier 5 Champions v. Club46.

The SPFL Play-off isn't going to change until the Tier 5 Champions are regularly winning.

The information to which the poster on NLM refers will be either oral or in writing so, if it is in writing, it would be good to read what it says? If it isn't in writing then it's oral and we just have to form a view upon its' accuracy and not everyone may share the same view.

The SPFL L2 teams will change their tune once they start to regularly lose the playoff to the LL/HL team. Currently only twice has this happened. The LL will get stronger each season with the best of the East and West entering. The current setup will make it extremely difficult for any relegated team to return so they’ll then want more fluid promotion and relegation.

I want to see automatic relegation from League 2 minimum of 1.5 places like the other divisions but letting Colt teams into the SPFL is not a price worth paying to speed this up. They’ve already indicated other Premiership teams will start in the HL/LL so they’re going to screw over the EOS/WOS/SOS and probably your own league to do this.

The more Colt teams in the SPFL the less space for new clubs trying to step up.

Bo'ness United FC Official   @BonessUnited_FC

Best of luck to Zander as he heads out on loan to @CowdenbeathFC  for the remainder of the season

An admission the LL season is done?

East Kilbride player away to them as well.

Quite a few have been loaned out ahead once it became clear SPFL1&2 would be restarting with uncertainty over the non-league.

Looking at most of them there's a mention of a recall if the LL restarts, which Max Christie has confirmed is the case here. Not quite throwing in the towel just yet.

Max certainly isn’t confident the season will restart.

If Big Dougie's information is right the PPG top 7 would be:-
1 Kelty 2.77
2 East Kilbride 2.42 (goal diff+26)
3 Bonnyrigg 2.42. (goal diff +23)
4 BSC. 2.31
5 East Stirlingshire 2.17
6 Gala Fairydean 1.83
7 Bo'ness United 1.8

Goal difference settles it in the LL if teams have the same points. Could be a sore one for the Rose if the SPFL expands to 16 next season.

Season is done, league have written to clubs today to tell them that it’s finished and settled on PPG. Had a message from a committee member at one club earlier.

So is this a wind-up, or confirmed?
