paranoid android
Cochrane leaving at the end of the season after knocking back a contract offer. Really don't blame him - we (Levein) have/has totally wasted that laddie. Think it could be a Jason Holt situation again - we'll be due a development fee, but clubs might not fancy paying it.
Billy Jean King
Good to see the Watery Farts lads tell the fans to GTF as they decide against knocking back their medals tomorrow. Also hilarious that the fans STILL are venting their spleen at their relegation that much that they could even dream up such a plan.

"the most difficult league in Scotland to win promotion from", very different from most difficult league in Scotland. I'm sure the Old Firm would love to win promotion from the Premiership; alas, still not possible.

topcat(The most tip top)
To try and assess quite how underwhelming that championship win was I've looked up against previous winners converted their Points to a 27 game equivalent to compare with our current season One word summary "Average" 1:Hearts 2014–15 (91/36)= 68.3/27 2:Falkirk 2002–03 (81/36)= 60.8/27 2:Rangers 2015–16 (81/36)= 60.8/27 4:Ross County 2011–12 (79/36)= 59.3/27 5:Partick Thistle 2012–13 (78/36)= 58.5/27 6:Hamilton 2007–08 (76/36)= 57.0/27 7:St Mirren 2005–06 (76/36)= 57.0/27 8:Dundee United 2019–20 (59/28)= 56.9/27 9:Falkirk 2004–05 (75/36)= 56.3/27 10:St Mirren 2017–18 (74/36)= 55.5/27 11:Inverness 2009–10 (73/36)= 54.8/27 12:Hibs 2016–17 (71/36)= 53.3/27 12:Ross County 2018–19 (71/36)= 53.3/27 14:Inverness 2003–04 (70/36)= 52.5/27 14:Dunfermline 2010–11 (70/36)= 52.5/27 16:Dundee 2013–14 (69/36)= 51.8/27 17:Partick Thistle 2001–02 (66/36)= 49.5/27 17:Gretna 2006–07 (66/36)= 49.5/27 19:St Johnstone 2008–09 (65/36)= 48.8/27 Right now we're on exactly 2 point/game so we're 10th on Goal Difference ahead of St Mirren's last title, and exactly in line with the overall average (1391 Pts/676 Games) The worst case scenario is we lose to Raith finish on 54 and are 12th out of 20 slightly ahead of Neil Lennon's Hibs side A draw would see us 11th The Best Case is 57 points which would see us 6th on Goal Difference Edited April 27, 2021 by topcat(The most tip top)

Rudolph Hucker
You would’ve saved yourself a bit of time if you’d just converted this season’s Hearts points to the equivalent of a 36 game season, Shirley?

We don't actually know Hearts points yet so and when I did the spreadsheet a few weeks back we had even less idea, although we had already gone past St Johnstone '09, This format made it easier to compare "what if" scenarios I started down the rabbit hole after reading a Dunfermline fan suggest that he couldn't remember a shitter team winning the second tier
topcat(The most tip top)
How Many points you get when you win the championship seems only lightly correlated to what happens next Dundee made the top 6 after only getting 69 points in 2014, Partick were 10th after getting 78 Team Winning Season Pts -> Position in the top flight Dundee United 2020 75.9 Pts -> 8 (at time of writing) Ross County 2019 71 Pts -> 10 St Mirren 2018 74 Pts -> 11 Hibs 2017 71 Pts -> 3 Rangers 2016 81 Pts -> 3 Hearts 2015 91 Pts -> 3 Dundee 2014 69 Pts -> 6 Partick Thistle 2013 78 Pts -> 10 Ross County 2012 79 Pts -> 5 Dunfermline 2011 70 Pts -> 12 Inverness 2010 73 Pts -> 7 St Johnstone 2009 65 Pts -> 8 Hamilton 2008 76 Pts -> 9 Gretna 2007 66 Pts -> 12 St Mirren 2006 76 Pts -> 11 Falkirk 2005 75 Pts -> 10 Inverness 2004 70 Pts -> 8 Falkirk 2003 81 Pts -> n/a Partick Thistle 2002 66 Pts -> 10 5 out of 19 sides have made the top 6, 3 have finished 3rd The only two sides to finish bottom after winning the championship are Dunfermline and Gretna, The only one to finish 11th is St Mirren (twice) The lesson from this is Don't play in black and white if you've just won the championship

DC92
I think not signing Logan is a sensible decision, really. He did well when he played but he's 33 and wasn't getting a game for a pretty ordinary Aberdeen team. I'd prefer we looked for someone younger and more athletic in the position. What concerns me is that's not what we're doing, according to Neilson's quotes this morning. He wants to move Smith back to his "favoured" position, despite the fact he's clearly better in the middle than he is at full-back these days, and the gap is getting wider as he ages and slows down. Signing Livi's third choice keeper after he looked pretty shite for us is a strange move as well. Hopefully Gordon doesn't get injured.
