Having watched the whole game, I thought that we were excellent in the first half, and should have even further ahead. Even the highlights you watched you must have seen it pretty much going only one way when it was 11 v 11. Had Shankland looked up and rolled the ball across for a tap in for 2-0, rather than trying to take the shot on himself, early in the first half, we would have won the game. I am loathe to criticise Shankland, but hopefully he will have been picked up on this, and will learn from it. Saints went up the park and scored not long after, and we struggled to deal with their intensity for a time. Fair play to Saints, they really had us under the cosh for a bit, and looked like they had the 11 on the park. All in all, I was really pleased with how we played, and was gutted that we didn’t get all 3 points, given the position at half time. I would have taken a point at kick off, so ok to stick with that. Everyone knows we need to strengthen, and I believe that we are in the process of doing just that. Robson definitely our best player which made the “poll” on the BBC website even more bizarre.
