Black Sabbath did perform at Live Aid!

Was not aware of this, brilliant.

Just read there that Black Sabbath took to the stage at five to ten in the morning local time.  That must've been bizarre to see.

Edit - Found the schedule on Wikipedia and Black Sabbath weren't even the first act on the Philadelphia stage.  The first act on stage that day was before 9am and some random guy called Bernard Watson just turned up and went on.

Sandwiched between Billy Ocean and Run DMC as well.  The US lineup was certainly eclectic!

A lot of people don't realise that Bo Diddley also played at Live Aid, appearing during the opening song of George Thorogood's set.  It was only broadcast in Norway and Germany for some reason but thanks to the wonders of YouTube...

I watched the entire George Thorogood set recently and it was excellent.  He had his two biggest hits though in the year prior to Live Aid and didn't play either of them, instead playing three blues covers.  Funny they didn't ask Bo Diddley to play a set in his own right - I'd say he was more famous than George Thorogood!
