Back pain.

Maybe one for the YouTube thread..

Not sure if he’s a quack or there’s any real science behind this but what is for sure is the sheer range and quality of wids that turn up in either mini dresses and heels or skimpy sports gear to have themselves cracked back into shape. Example..

Chiropracty is bullshit.  There is no evidence it works.  Some adherents claim that cracking backs can cure cancer and AIDS.

Has anyone ever been for a deep tissue massage?  My back is getting stiff after months of working from home and sitting on sofas and at kitchen tables but I think a lot of back clinics are shady, as above.

Mrs Par has a frozen shoulder just now (hence me stumbling across these videos). Had a setback with it the other day but she sees a physio at Active Health and after a session yesterday she is miles better today.

This...
Back problems are caused by
Bulging discs,
Arthritis (facet joints)
Muscle issues
Degenerative Disc Disease

No amount of cracking fixes any of this... It's all bullshit imo

Agree with every word of that. Except the first one, for which I would have preferred "Chiropractic".

I was taking part in a sporting competition in early 2019, British Masters level, down in London. Before my event, and having driven down over two days, I had quite a lot of the familiar tightness in my lower back. All I needed, to supplement my own stretching, was a classic old-fashioned physio rub; or a new-fashioned physio assisted set of stretches; or, ideally, both.

Unfortunately, they were running a take-a-ticket system, where you were assigned to the next free health person from their pool when it came to your turn. I got a b*****ding chiropractor, who didn't announce himself as such until I was stripped and up on the table, pretty much past the point of no return (but how I wish I'd returned).

So much talk about alignment, so much putting a wee clapperboard thing under my hip and pushing until it went clap; so little reduction in muscle tightness.

You'd fall off.

Got my neck cracked like that once. Got into a fight with some older boys and was doing well until one of them picked me up by the head. Clamped a hand over each ear like a vice then lifted me clean off my feet.
