Though we don't know if and when we'll be back watching football in what will be a unique season of 2020-21, with last season now consigned to history and while many other fans on here starting threads for an impending new campaign, I thought we might as well get in on the act and start a new thread for Cowdenbeath.

I've seen a few players have moved on but was wondering what the score is squad-wise... who will be staying for a new season (whenever that might be), what's people's thoughts about what's gone on over the last few months, and what's the general consensus looking forward?

Of all pre-seasons I've ever known, this is definitely the strangest and most challenging for everyone so it will be interesting to see how the next year or two pans out because I think football and some of the game's smaller clubs particularly, will be feeling the effects of this pandemic for a few years to come yet...

Let's hope Cowden can survive in a healthy state and pull through what is sure to be a tough and worrying time for many clubs at the moment...

GOOD TO GO FOR 20/21 - NEW SIGNING

Today it was confirmed that the SPFL L2 campaign for season 2020/21 will commence on 17 October and that the League season will comprise 27 matches.

With that start date in mind, Cowdenbeath FC are pleased to announce signing news for the season ahead. Firstly, we are delighted to confirm that defender Ross Clarke has put pen to paper for Cowdenbeath FC. Ross (24) was with Albion Rovers last season and was named as Player of the Year by the Cliftonhill club. We offer Ross a very warm welcome to Central Park (once we open up again!!)

Also signing on for the new season are Jacob Glass and Lewis Owens, both of whom were with the club last year. Jacob and Lewis have now both turned 17 and will be looking to break through into the first XI in the season ahead. They are also both still able to turn out for the FEFA U-18 side given we will not have a reserve side in 2020/21. We wish all 3 players every success in 2020/21.

He's a left back. That's all I've got for you.

Was named Albion Rovers POTY so I assume had a very good season. Got 10 yellow cards last season so he'll fit right in.

He’s a left back. That’ll do.

Hopefully that doesn't mean the end of Harvey Swann.

Anyone know what the team of the season was? Did any Cowden players make it?

A bit harsh but there were no Blue Brazilians. The team was

McHale (Elgin)

McLean (Stirling)

Higgins (Cove)

McGregor (Stirling)

Jamieson (QP)

Omar (Elgin)

Wilson (Stirling)

Roberts (Albion R)

Handling (Ed City)

Kaider-Assoko (QP)

Byrne (Albion R)

Never mind Edin City, there's only one player from the runaway champions Cove and two from Albion Rovers..

Mind you I've never taken these league team of the season things seriously when they used to routinely ignore Meadowbank players

Might mean he's further up the pitch.

Clarke, Barr, Todd, Mullen is a very strong backline.  Just need a solid keeper and then we will be a tough team to beat!

Total farce. It's just a popularity contest!

No Fyvie or Megginson, the 2 standout players in the division last season. No David Galt, Queen's best player last season.

Utter nonsense!!!

Depends on how many mates and family you can get to vote for you.

Team chosen by those motivated in support of their own club's players, it's all pretty meaningless, and it won't matter to anyone who didn't vote. Our supporters' club seems to have been very motivated.

Team of the Season is worse than a farce. It's completely meaningless given the SPFL can't organise an online poll whereby an individual is limited to one vote.
